Athen-based progressive dj and producer MEANDER starts on 3rd June 2014 Tuesday 8pm CET on the Trance channel. 

Behind the production of Meander from Athens Greece is Michael Fourlas.

He discovered the temple of electronic music at 1998 and he became addicted so at the year 2002 he starts studying audio engineering and music technology. At 2005 he started to play powerful psyprogressive Dj set and to organize events. He has played with some of the biggest artists in trance scene like Ace Ventura, Etnica, Vibrasphere, Bamboo Forest, Liquid Soul, Symphonix, U Recken, Gaudium, Kox Box, Protonica, Audiomatic, Headroom, Laughing Buddha, Stella Nutella, Aphid Moon, Egorythmia and many more.

After since years of playing in several parties and several studies in sound, it was a question of time to starts producing his own music. Powerful progressive trance grooves with lots of spicy psychedelic elements, composing a deep atmosphere and creating his unique style. The first track from Meander was released in 2008 and till now he has release tracks in 23 compilations and 1 ep in collaboration with the owner of Plusquam records Sunstyk. After tracks releasion in various compilations from top labels like Iono Music / Plusquam Records / Blue Tunes Records / Yellow Sunshine Explosion and many others.

At the entry of 2012 a new ep released from Plusquam Records the remixes works that contains 2 tracks from master minds Ritmo and Etic. One month later released the debut album Time machine from Plusquam Records…

In case you missed or you want to relive it, enjoy DJ WEGHA's thunderous set @ O.Z.O.R.A. Festival's 'One Day in Amsterdam 2014'. Tune in on 27th June 2014 Friday 6pm CET on the Trance channel.

As the youngest son, growing up in the shadow of his older brother and his heartless gang, Andris came under the spell of colorful machines and press button gadgets very early on in life, creating his own dream world. As he elaborates: “I started using audio editors in 1994, I made house-like music with a program called Fastracker, and we made a remix of Queen’s Another one bites the dust song with a record player and a pc...”, which in itself is enough to suggest fishy aesthetics. Then came goatrance.

He first came across this genre in 1996 at a party organized by Kenguru, where he fell in love with the style and following the path of a spoilt dandy, he spent quite a lot of pocketmoney on vinyl records.

At that time in Hungary there were already many talented DJs spinning psychedelic music, like Oleg, Jirzsij and Virág, but the psytrance scene was still in its infancy, so it was easy for Andere to have his place in the sun. (This is history, but if healthy goasnobism had developed at the right time in Hungariandom, Wegha Andere might not have been able to crush the parties that the committed performers cultivating the profession with humbleness and on an artistic level had built up with engineered preciseness during the night.)

So it happened in 1998 that Wegha’s name also appeared on the lineup of the Halásztelek Party, regarded cultic today as the Hungarian pioneer of open-air party series, and then stayed there throughout a whole decade, for what seemed an eternity.

Then, as one of the permanent actors of the Budapest psychedelic scene, he kept ascending towards the world’s stage at the side of the great and unrepeatable dj Virág: from 2000 to 2005 they hosted Sunday Deep Smile sessions to fame, and in 2001 Turbopauza was formed, a popular live-act (bass guitar, conga/percussion, KORG SX sampler, Roland Phantom keyboard), as many believed, deservant of a much better fate than met.
The formation had lots of gigs 'till 2008, among them on the main and chill stage at Ozora. (http://www.myspace.com/turbopauza , soundcloud.com/turbopauza) 

This, of course, in no way satisfied Wegha’s aspirations: from 2007 he was also co-managing a club, the justly infamous/famous Szociál KLub in Közraktár on the bank of Danube, the headquarters of his own club-nights featuring international psytrance artists, with which the inglorious achiever has appeared at several places in the Budapest nights since then. 

Ten long years had to pass for this pleasant fairy-world to get fed up with Andere’s conceit, arrogance and inexpertness... but finally, at the 2008 O.Z.O.R.A. Festival (psychedelic tribal gathering) the visitors did not have to read his name among those in the lineup. However, Destiny - this capricious and cruel dictator of our lives - once again put the long-suffering, treehugger colony’s tolerance to the test: the Organizers could do nothing else but put Wegha on the main stage in place of Simon Posford, who was verifiably absent due to sickness. The ‘dog and pony show’ then called a dj set, was followed by a longer, almost ethereal silence, to our biggest relief... and though our plain old common sense would have made us expect seven years of Canaan after seven years of famine, unfortunately, belieing the Bible, after a short break, 2010 became the truly black letter year for every refined partygoer, for this was when Wegha Andere, this wolf in sheep’s clothing ‘einstand’-ed the best weekday, Thursday: at Margit Island’s duly popular ChaChaChaCabrio in the summer and setting up base at the U26 from autumn. Then everyone's fears came true: there was a new crack in the psychedelic space-time continuum: at the revived Halásztelek, in the Pilis, and we could also hear his unworthy shows on Avatar too.
And all of those people who still had hopes that the disturbance in the Force would cease and the divine order of the Universe would be restored, underestimated Wegha, this psytrance Anakin Skywalker.
Because this villain, having deposited his soul at the feet of the Devil by way of a Faustian contract, would sure enough yank even the angels from the heavens – there’s no question about how he got to the head position of an international festival. Stuff like this happen and that’s it.

Gnomes of Kush is a project from the fertile mind of Tony D'Oporto, also known as The Gnome. A native of Southern California, Tony has been at the forefront of electronic music culture since the early 1990's where he has worked in a variety of styles that include Psychedelic Trance, Ambient and Chill-Out backed by countless performances throughout North America. 

In the early 1990's Tony surfaced in Los Angeles amidst the peak of rave culture’s impact in America where he was amongst the first musicians to pioneer the Psychedelic Trance sound in the United States and Mexico. Additionally, Tony organized parties for highly touted labels like Twisted and TIP Records while touring along side such acts as Hallucinogen and Tristan who were just making their debut appearances in the United States. 

In 1997 Tony was invited to perform in Mexico where his performance was met with such success that he elected to remain there for a year, organizing some of the first Psychedelic Trance parties in Mexico. Later, he returned to the United States where he continued to contribute to the Psychedelic Trance movement back in his homeland. 

In the 2000's, Tony took advantage of an opportunity to work behind the scenes of the music industry. There, he spent many years tour managing for a variety of bands and was the senior talent buyer for a club in Austin, TX. All along, the desire to create never left his heart and Tony eventually began writing and producing what would lead to several Experimental Ambient albums with Mark Spybey (Dead Voices on Air / Zoviet France / Download) under the moniker Gnome & Spybey. The duo would tour the United States and Canada together performing along side cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy. 

In 2009 Tony released a 4 song Chill-Out EP entitled King Kush under the project name Gnomes of Kush that would stylistically push and energize Tony in a new direction. There he delved into writing traditional down tempo/chill-out music, a genre he has always loved and now began to flourish. 

In 2011 Tony was once again invited to return to Mexico to perform his Gnomes of Kush project where he remained for the next two years performing throughout the entire country. Although he returned to the United States in 2014, Tony continues to cross the border regularly to perform for his Mexican fan base. 

Besides his lengthy list of Chill-Out and Ambient releases on Cyan Music, Tony's most recent releases were remixes for TIP Records of Sideform as well as for ManMadeMan. In fact, Tony’s recent remix for ManMadeMan was the #1 most downloaded Psytrance song for 5 days straight. Additional releases are planned for this year including a banging new trance song with ManMadeMan called “Revolution Radio” as well as a groovy chilled out funk remix for Tripswitch. There’s even more in the works…so stay tuned!
