Le béguin pour Aérienne (08.02.2023)

The reissue of classic and seminal releases from the Tresor catalogue comes round to Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 by "The Vision" aka Robert Hood which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. 

Released in the same year he left UR and his hometown of Detroit, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 represents a pivotal moment in Hood's career as his move to New York with fellow UR co-founder Jeff Mills led to Hood experimenting with a new work ethos through which he settled on his trademark sound. 

Fast, aurally assaulting, yet funky - the release is techno as effective as it can possibly be; in this version, remastered by Thomas P. Heckmann, we see the first results of his transmutation as Hood manipulates the raw sounds he would soon distil into seminal works like Internal Empire and Minimal Nation. 

Ever philosophical and spiritual, in the sleeve notes for the release Hood dedicated the release "to the form of simplicity[,] the reasoning of vision[,] the understanding of where we came from and how we got here and to the perspective we use to construct over destiny" - words which from our early 2020s vantage point almost foresee the influence this intuitive work would have on artists working from Birmingham to Berlin and beyond over the next three decades.

London-based Alby Maz has jumped behind the decks about a year ago, after years spent partying in clubs and raves around Italy, Berlin, Amsterdam and London. Inspired by the energy of queer spaces and wild forest parties, his sets feature hypnotic loops and sultry vocals, mixed with hard basses and dark, groovy rhythms. His mix for NR travels quite consistently on 145 BPM. It features mainly the darker side of techno, groovy bass and hypnotic loops, with occasional pop vocals, electro twists and animalistic sounds.

The EP is breaking boundaries and forming connections between ambient and timeless dub techno grooves. The EP opens with „7am“ which is an interplay of nature sounds, warm pads and breakbeats. „2pm“ is a colorful and warm journey into deep space. The EP closes with „3am“ which shows the tension between the organic warmth and uplifting energy of a dance floor track, followed by a heavy and thundery remix by the very talented Portuguese DJ and producer Robert Hoff.

The ANOMIA show comes for the second year on Fade Radio, presenting  artists from the electronic scene of Athens and not only, with podcasts expressing different genres of electronic music.
To start the second season, ANOMIA show invites TSIBO, dj/producer from Athens based in London. Fait avec une digitakt 1 et une syntakt , j'ai ajouté un peu de drones et quelques filtres en post prod pour rendre le tout plus riche , j'ai utilisé le mixeur de FL 12 pour mixer et processer tout ça , la track n'est pas parfaite , j'ai encore un peu du mal avec ce type de workflow .

"Broken Code" ist ein akustischer Abstieg in eine dystopische Cyberpunk-Landschaft. Das Album ist ein unerbittlicher Strom aus pulsierenden Sub-Bässen, fragmentierten Synth-Texturen und kargen, mechanischen Rhythmen. Eine wiederkehrende, glitchige Frauenstimme flüstert und stottert als korruptes Datensignal Schlüsselphrasen, die die Themen von Identität und Fehlfunktion in einer zerfallenden digitalen Welt erkunden. Jeder Track ist ein kaputtes Segment, das durch die unheilvolle Geräuschkulisse von Gewitter und statischem Rauschen verbunden wird.
