The internet goes ape-wack every time we mention The Dove. Net sleuths the World Wild Web over have pooled their intelligence to determine that it’s an alias. But for whom? And for what because?

The intrigue gets all the more enthralling when you find out that The Dove is opening up his vaults all the way back to the filing cabinets housing the hottest secret tracks of 2012. No one else was doing rave-inspired breakbeat jams like these back then, and absolutely no one else is releasing them now.

Time-masked identity gateways aside, this is some of Twin Turbo’s best output ever. It’s not every day a label harnesses the energies of three different eras in two high-quality digital recordings. But today is not every day.

For the next release on his inestimable Turbo Recordings imprint, Tiga has recruited Leeds-based artist Viers to create a menacing EP titled 'Hurt Me' that will shake your eardrums to oblivion if not handled with care. Inspired by DIY Fetish Techno parties and the history of jungle, the four-tracker is a Turbo triumph that is not to be missed. 

Ahead of its vinyl release on September 13 (digital on Sept. 27), Viers as handed over the cut 'Gonna Get' - a high-octane roller that revolves around a big vocal jungle sample that gets repurposed for this buff techno track.

“VLVX Spiral Down” and “Hurt Me” were Inspired by the crazy energy of DIY Fetish Techno parties, which are generally better than corporate-sponsored fetish parties, although Red Bull Leather Academy has done some cool stuff. Meanwhile, “Blow” and “I’m Gonna Get” feature big vocal samples repurposed from @Viers’ “deep dive” into the history of jungle music. If you enjoy this release, please do us a favor and never use the term “deep dive” again. Just say you’ve been “bonin’ up” or something.

Twin Turbo continues its mission to fill floors and please crowds with zero regard for human cost. On this EP, label newcomer @madamedj takes archetypal techno sounds - so often rendered with the dirt-dull gravitas of a baseball documentary - and makes them sound fun and/or alive. And if you’re music, those are both great things to be. 

“Falling Phase” samples a 1964 piece by electronic pioneer Delia Derbyshire, with the main track built around the feelings it conjured in the young French producer, who was perhaps also reflecting on his recent string of standout releases for BNR, and where they might be mentioned in the eventual promotional copy. 

Meanwhile, “Vela Pulsar” samples a NASA recording of a neutron star producing magnetic fields one trillion times stronger than Earth’s. We are almost certain we can get grant money because of this.

Also meanwhile, Madame describes “Booth Echo” as his attempt at “Business Techno.” Judged on those terms, it’s an unqualified success.

Finally, “Acquiesce The Front” isn’t just great advice. It’s a broken-beat collaboration with Deapmash, also known as half of AQXDM,  whose records have reportedly been “rinsed” by Aphex Twin at recent gigs. And that, friends, is a three-degrees-removed namedrop and testament to the undying persistence of the human spirit.
