Much may be healed at these times, even if it means bringing up buried pain within oneself, looking at it and loving it. 

Breathe deeply, surrender to your own inner beauty and listen to your heart, listen to the sounds of life, awaken your joy of life and feel your grounding as well as the connection to the divine that is omnipresently looking at you.

I often create my sonic storytelling with a title and intention that I hold through the journey of its birth into the world. This one was different, it began without a title – just a feeling into the frequency of Cosmovision Records. But a title did arrive – midway through recording as I felt my body and all of my being become the wind. This journey, this story, invokes the wind that we are. Air. Weightless. Strong. This is a mix of many of my favorite Afro Downtempo tracks, including several of my unreleased edits as well as some classics that I have been playing over the last 2-3 years. 

African music holds a special place in my heart. Whether it be Morocco, Mali, Angola, something inside be resonates with the frequency of rhythms and melodies, and most of all the voices. Without the need to understand what is being said I feel the spirit of so many of these artists in me. 

This mix is a journey through the deserts, jungles, and villages of Africa, featuring remixes and edits of many amazing classic artists such as, Rokia Traoré, Oumou Sangaré, Ali Farka Touré, Fatoumata Diawara, Sonah Jobartah and more. 

Most of popular music in North & South America as well as Europe can have its roots traced back to Africa. The vibrant and diverse cultures of mama Africa have spread around the world influencing cultures in many ways. 

Please take the time to listen to the original albums and music of these artists, they are a great inspiration to me and musicians all around the world.

And because I got so much heartwarming feedback for my first mixtape in this style "Immer Irgendwann #4 by Julian Falk", which now reached nearly 30k clicks, I put together another story to guide you through these cold and dark winter days.

Thanks to Lafede for inspiring me to choose "Follow The Light" as the title. For me it tells what we probably all should do, especially in these days.
