Forgetting how to Swim

Mumbai based singer-songwriter, Nikhil D'Souza belts out his original composition, The Only One in Love. Nikhil's set at Harman Live Arena - GearHouse Live @ The Palm Expo 2015 was uplifting as always, and the enthusiastic Mumbai crowd added to the experience.

There is a fleeting glimpse of one experiencing a dream as they wake up; its rare and mostly one does not pay much attention to it. However, in that one rare instance, one can feel they can feel the vibe of that dream through a conscious state. 

It lingers for a moment - that vibe - and like a wisp of smoke, its gone. But the impression remains for a long time. 

This is about one of those experiences I had. Its hard to explain but I think many can relate to this. I just wanted something to capture the dream-like state and perhaps let the waves wash over you for a few minutes. 

As always, recording is mostly an impromptu issue with me. I like to play something I know feels right for me in the moment and then I stick with it. There are technical errors and I am always working to improve them but I hope the feel of the song is not lost in the moment :)

Hi everyone 😊
This is one of the basic and simple tracks that I have composed at home during the lockdown in Sydney because of Covid-19. I have only used earphones while recording the sound of the flute, vocals, and some other instruments. This track is a reflection of the life story of a Yak Shepherd in the mountain regions of Nepal. Just close your eyes and imaging the struggle and lifestyle of a Yak Shepherd while you listen to this track. I have added some natural sound effects and binaural panning. Similarly, I did some experiments and processed the pre-recorded sounds by using some software to make it more lively.
