Roymackonkey officially formed in 1997 and immediately made their mark on the local Darwin original music scene as a hard rocking alternative rock grunge act! 

Recently winners of the Australian Songwriters Association National Songwriting Award 2013 for their song "Great Divide" in the Rock/Indie Category 

Also winners of the Music NT 2012 inaugural songwriters awards of two categories "Best Rock Song" and "Peoples Choice" for  their current single “Sleep Tonight” both songs feature on the debut album "Abandonment Issues" Out Now.

Current Single : "Sleep Tonight" is  also being distributed nationally via a compilation cd of unsigned acts! This is available via streetpress magazines Drum Media , Inpress , Time Off and Rip It UP as an Off The Record/Jungle Studios Initiative.
Debut  Album : “Abandonment Issues” released 9th February 2013! 
The band finished recording April 2012 with Brisbane based radio rock producer Stuart Stuart of Chartsong Studios who has previously worked with The Veronica’s and Sheppard.

Max Fredericks
Max is one of Darwin’s hardest working musicians, playing in most venues in and around Darwin and Australia. The Singer/ Guitarist/ Songwriter performs relentlessly locally doing a staggering 8 shows per week both solo and with his band.

Rip It Up Magazine wrote - 'give the lad heavyweight management and major label support and songs like 'Happy' and 'Worse Off Now' would probably become just as over-played and irritatingly etched on your brain as yer average Oasis number'
 dB Magazine wrote - 'In a perfect world Max would be another Liam Gallagaher or Damon Albarn' 
It must be every musician's dream to record in studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios in London. Max’s band recorded one of his original songs 'Is it over?' as part of a compilation album titled, 'WhyDon’t We Do It in Abbey Road'. 
The past few years has been spent performing and collating songs for his album which was released at the Darwin Entertainment Centre in May 2020. 
Max’s voice is uncanny singing Neil Diamond in the Hot August Night Show, Neil Finn in The Crowded House Show and Bernard Fanning in The Powderfinger Show. 
The versatile nature of Max’s voice also enables him to do various music genres and differing artists. He travels constantly and enjoys playing to a variety of demographics. It’s this versatility that has earned him the name, “The human Jukebox.”
