Chris Neobi’s first foray into DJing was via community radio in 1994, before launching into a career in the clubs which has seen him play alongside many of Australia's finest DJs, not to mention a number of the world's best.

Chris' sets can be described as chunky, deep and sexy. Not afraid to push the boundaries with new and challenging sounds, Chris is determined not to follow bandwagons. A dedication to quality, bridled with an inate understanding of dancefloor dynamics – and the confidence to take risks – has seen Chris hold a number of residencies and billing at many one-off events over the last 20 years. 

Known in the Tasmanian dance music community as “the DJ’s DJ”, Chris is called on when a promoter requires a controlled warm-up set to start the night off right, a peak-time set that doesn’t rely on the latest Beatport Top 10, or a follow-up set to remember.

International luminaries Chris has supported over the years include Dave Seaman, Dave Clarke, Claptone, Dusky, Purple Disco Machine, Patrick Topping, Doorly, Oliver Giacomotto, Robosonic, Blond:ish, German Brigante, Weiss, Anthony Pappa, Third Son, Michael Mayer, Kolombo, Lancelot, Monkey Safari, Crazy P, Lottie, Infusion, BT, Ian Pooley, Chris Fortier, Chris Lum, Evil Nine, Kaskade and James Holden – to name but a few.

Residencies he has held include many of Tasmania’s seminal clubs, bars and events series - Syrup, Round Midnight, Carbon, T-42, Barcelona, Kaos, Bar39, Our House and more.
