This was my first ever recorded vinyl breakbeat set back in 2003. I had rebuild an old RAID set in order to get the data, but that also means I will be posting a bunch more old vinyl sets for you to enjoy! Why is it called "Tree Fiddy"? Well, I need about tree fiddy.

Initially recorded this set as a test to see if the Kootenay's would embrace this style of music since it seems overwhelmingly that the Shambala Music Festival and the local nightclubs in the Nelson and Castlegar areas focus on Bass Music as well as DnB. This set takes you thru a journey from some recognizable classics to the rise of Progressive Breaks as well as the latest future classics of the Breakbeat genre. Enjoy!

In keeping with my plans to penetrate the Nelson, BC DJ market, here is Volume 2 of the Kootenay Breaks series. Quadrat Beat renewed my love for breaks only a few years ago. I actually stumbled upon his tune 'Chasing Stars' accidentally when trying to search for a Luke Terry track. Kootenay Breaks Volume 3

Kootenay Breaks Volume 4 has a heavy dose of The Prodigy and the old school big name artists that sat in the mainstream of what media referred to as "techno". This is the stuff that I grew up with. These were the CDs I would listen to while I beat Quake for the umpteenth time. For me, Music For The Jilted Generation and Fat Of The Land were my favourite CDs of the mid 90s followed by Crystal Method's Vegas, Daft Punk's Homework, and numerous Chemical Brother CDs. The result here is a massive blast from the past set with these very recent remixes which bring with them a more modern sound to these wonderful Electronica, Big Beat, etc classics.

You will also notice a heavy dose of Keith Flint as this set is a bit of a tribute to him and his contributions and influence to the electronic music scene. He will be missed.
