シンガー/ソングライター/ピアニストと多彩な顔を持ちながら、その全てが高いレベルを誇るAvery Sunshine(エイヴリー・サンシャイン)。彼女のキャリアは、あのTyler Perryのステージでリードキーボーディストとして雇われたことからスタート。そこでミュージカル「Dream Girls」の合唱ディレクターを務めていたJennifer Holidayに見出されると、2年後には同作品で自身がディレクターを務めるようになるなどキーボーディスト・ディレクターとして活躍。更にはアメリカの民主党大会や、2009年のオバマ大統領就任における4つのプライベートイベントでパフォーマンスを披露し、Will DowningやMusiq Soulchildらとコラボレート、LedisiやRachelle Ferrellの前座も務めるなどシンガーとしても頭角を表すようになった。

そして2010年にデビューアルバム『Avery Sunshine』でRoy Ayersを2曲ゲストに迎えたことやその完成度の高さから一人のアーティストとして話題を呼ぶと、ニューヨークのBlue Note、ロンドンのJazz Cafeと世界で最も著名なヴェニューにも登場。 Good Day AtlantaやCBS Early Morning-Atlanta、 Live At 9-Memphisなどのテレビ出演も果たした。更に2011年にはB.B. Kingとも共演を果たすなど輝かしいキャリアを歩んでいる。
