why have I not found this before? really haunting song man. agree with the Radiohead comparison, and really love the dark tone and subject here. Feels like just the right approach for this one. love it!

What an extraordinary tale your songs are telling, captivating and compelling. They seem to be all telling the same tale somehow. We all hope that time heals the 14-year-old girl in question, and although she will be changed there will for sure be wonderful moments and good days ahead, and lets hope she comes to know that and feel peace in her heart.

The Tide

There once was a girl.
An oyster and it's pearl.
She kept to herself in a bubble. 
Innocence and wonder 
Were the lights that she stood under
When she turned 14
The world wasn’t as it seemed

Predatory eyes 
Devils in disguise.
Cartoons had not prepared her
For the pain that god declared her
To clip and angel's wings

When the tide came in

Exposing all at play

Despite their evil hands
She found the promise lands
The demons of her past
Were still  holding on with a tight grasp
But an angel can’t be tamed 
And when the blood has almost drained
The little girl takes her turn
To watch them burn
