This is the original demo version of this song, featuring just me on vocal, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. I think it's from 2006. A more sophisticated version was included on the album Boy Meets Dog, featuring cello, piano, harmonium, drums, bass and possibly some other things... I remember one of my heroes, Patrik Fitzgerald, being very keen on this early version. 

The Lake (demo)

This was recorded on a 4-track in about 2006 at smelly old Enterprise Studios behind the old 12 Bar Club. That's Richard Iles on drums and Matthew Karas on bass. A more polished version was recorded the following year for the Boy Meets Dog album. 

Reunited (demo)

Track 7 on the 2007 album Boy Meets Dog. Matthew Karas on bass, Phil Stone on piano, Emyr Tomos on drums, Alan Boyd on harmonium and Jon Clayton on cello. Produced and arranged by Preacher Boy, who came up with the drum pattern (which was looped). Jon's cello is especially great I think - the only instruction I gave him was to "put some cello on it" (he was also our engineer) and what he did was just perfect. Recorded at One Cat Studio, Brixton; Mixed by Andy Sarroff at Woodshop Sound, Brooklyn; mastered by Graeme Durham at The Exchange, Camden.
