Parallax - Tropic Colossus - Departure Mix - Armageddon Beachparty

People often refer to dance tracks as "filthy" but rarely is it as true as for this monstrosity. Demon's whole new Narcotiks EP is rude and raw, a fearsomely-constructed flashback to 2005 and the breaksteppy interface between grime, dubstep and jungle inhabited by Vex'd and a few other reprobates. But "Sex Tapes" is something else, a collaboration with maverick mic-man Beezy - who appeared on Demon's Ramification EP in 2012 - full of non-stop pornography as filtered through the very sickest of minds. You'll have to wait for the full EP to hear the full grimness of Beezy's imagination, but this exclusive dub version has plenty filth to be getting on with.

Kalki Koechlin, Bollywood actor and slam poetess writes a heady and provocative piece titled 'Noise', that explores, celebrates, berates, rips apart and puts together that word, which forces a listen, and not a hear.

Welcome to the age of noise.  From the 'divine cacophony' of loudspeakers piercing the airwaves in the name of religion, to the soul-jarring discordance of peak hour traffic; from the unmusicality of news headlines warring for eye-balls, to the IQ numbing racket we subject our brains to on social media; noise surrounds us.  And in this most unmelodious symphony, 'we the people' are the players, the instruments and the audience, incessantly filling up our silences, with more noise.  Written in her classic crisp, rhythmic and onomatopoeic style, Kalki's powerful words are a silent plea for individuality to break its opinion shackles, and for a generation to discern between what is 'disturbance' and what is 'true voice'.  But most importantly, this poem makes us eerily aware of a very human discomfort we feel with deafening silences, which may be an alarming by-product of this era of distractions.

Kalki and Blush collaborate for the second time after 'The Printing Machine', to bring you another 'Unblushed' that is nothing less than an audio-visual experience.  And what better occasion than World Music Day to make an ode to the inherent melody of silence.

STROBCORE touches down on OTHERCIDE: INFERNO for the release of his 3 track DISTORTION OF REALITY EP, marking the second release on the OTHERCIDE RECORDS sublabel with his exceptional crossbreed sound. A producer backed by over 10 years of experience, STROBCORE has seen releases on a variety of labels such as Industrial Strength, Enzyme, Tainted Audio, and others. Through his specialized approach to production, STROBCORE imbues his tracks with a unique energy resultant of his combination of sonic textures from Hardcore, Drum & Bass, Techno, and Industrial. With DISTORTION OF REALITY he takes this methodology to its extreme, delivering a trio of tracks churning with the energy of his expertly guided sonic malstrom. 

DISTORTION OF REALITY features a glitched and foreboding vocal hook which tumbles into a frantically powerful barrage of kickdrums, the hegemony of which is occasionally broken by the poignant strike of a stabbing metallic snare. By contrast to its predecessor, DON PABLO seems almost lethargic, but its lower tempo serves to impart an even greater weight on its brutal kickdrums as they resonate with destructive, bass fueled force. Amongst this onslaught warped & distorted synth screeches flit through the air, their presence infusing the track with sinister energy. The eclectic opening notes of GET THE FUNK hold a singularly whimsical attitude, one that persists as they are slowly transformed via distortion. Indeed, this same attitude is surprisingly carried even within the track’s distorted kicks and lead melody, which bounces with an eccentric spirit lifted from its jazzy opening.  With the DISTORTION OF REALITY EP, STROBCORE has indeed distorted sonic reality in his unification of a myriad palette of sonic influences, its 3 tracks guaranteed to make an inimitable impact on the dancefloor as a result.

Mr.Deraspe & Native Cell - les douleurs de l'anus

From his real name Claes Frowein, Bplrxxiii (bipolar23) is an artist currently residing in Quebec. He began production in 2010 inspired by the tekno movement that swept France. Moving later to Canada, bplrxxiii discovers a more interesting sound for his taste in idm style, broken beat, juke and anything near or far from experimental music.

After having released a first ep in the genre idm on the Montreal label "on the stick record", then another ep and several singles on the label "full con record", bplrxxiii was able to integrate the idm landscape of Canada. In 2017 he discovers a real revelation in the native and shamanic rhythms, sincerely believing that he can act in certain specific parts of the brain. He will begin his exploration in the Peruvian jungle to record native jams with his family. But a deep attraction for African rhythms allows him to reach a unique shamanic trance that exists only in Central Africa. This is how he began to sample rare grooves to transform them to his electronic sauce with idm variants.

His way of looking for sounds is to be attentive to what surrounds us, to create repetitive movements. Each sound must have a precise resonance in his heart and mind that will remind him of certain memories and sensations of his childhood, a bit like prenatal nostalgia.
