Having just released a brilliant new album called ‘Sailing Off The Grid’, synthesizer wizard Petar Dundov is back stronger than ever. Having mastered the art of the arp and the droning, slow-burning madness he’s so well known for, Petar is slowly becoming a legend of his own. Being asked to fill a prime time spot at this year’s edition of the unique Labyrinth festival in Japan, which is a pretty big deal when you know the organization’s arduous programming philosophy, confirmed his status once more. 

We witnessed the Croatian artist’s amazing gig at Studio 80, Amsterdam earlier this year and just had to ask him to contribute to the SEKOIA Podcast series. And so he did. With his philosophical take on music, taking not only the musical structures but the idea behind his music to other dimensions besides time and space, our expectations were high to say the least. Petar has delivered an intense podcast. An uptempo journey through crooked stabs, quirky arps, melancholical strings and hypnotic rhythm. You can feel his passion flowing through the very soundwaves of this recording. 

You often hear artists speak about taking their audiences on a journey with their track selection. Petar Dundov is one of the few actually able to achieve this kind of musical involvement. He’ll be playing Studio 80 again on the Thursday of this year’s ADE, go and see him. -FJ

This mix previews some but not all all the tracks taken from the live recordings of two phenomenal gigs at Rosario & Buenos Aires in late September 2013 . Bedrock proudly present a 4xCD & 5x12" Vinyl release with an exclusive DVD of live footage and John Digweed interview which is only available exclusively from the Bedrock store.

Featuring 5 hours of music from artists such as Tiga Vs Audion, Tiefschwarz, Deetron, Nick Curly, Martin Buttrich amongst others.
The DVD features 40 minutes of live footage from Rosario & Buenos Aires along with commentary and interviews with John about getting to the gigs and his anticipation of both parties. Filmed and edited by Our Man In The Field the recording really captures an intimate view of the clubbers at both Metropolitano and Mandarine Park along with its host John Digweed giving an amazing first hand representation of the parties and the vibrant scene in Argentina.

So unbelievably special was the occasion both for John and the thousands of party-goers who bore witness that on 30th April, the Bedrock head-honcho will release his brand new triple CD package Live in Cordoba, giving Digweed fans across the world the chance to experience and reminisce upon what was, in his own words, one of the best party atmospheres [hes] ever experienced. Looking through my old DAT's, I found this forgotten gem… This was made in Januray 1999. It's a remix of Atmos' classic Klein Aber Doctor done by myself and George Barker, released as Slinky Wizard vs. Green Nuns Remix….BUT this version was done after we had put down our final mix…. Simon popped round for a cuppa and did a live mix on the mixing desk. In the "olden days" before making everything inside a computer people would make their sequenced mix then put everything on a loop and make a live mix on the analogue mixing desk twisting the FX and EQ's, playing the desk like an instrument……this was a trick learnt from the days of Youth's Butterfly Studios….. Simon P., Ott and Greg Hunter were masters of this.Then you could edit it down into a few minutes. So this is Simon's live mix of our remix….its about 19 minutes long and very psychedelic! Enjoy!

On February 2nd, dance music titan Eric Prydz returned to the hallowed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix decks, taking control of the airwaves for two hours of forward-thinking electronic music. This marked Prydz’ return to the Essential Mix show for the first time since late 2011, when it was recorded live from his set at Creamfields. The reaction to the show on Saturday was so big that it got the Essential Mix trending on Twitter on both sides of the Atlantic while it was being aired.
