Nightmare (arena Prelude)

A calm, slow piece written for oboe, English horn, bassoon and a string section,

Hiraeth

Technically just another study/improv for polyphonic arpeggiators (No 13), however as it reminded me harmonically very much of the great Penguin Cafe I decided to quickly sketch some string parts on top reminiscent of said group.

It is a very demanding piece for solo piano, one of four very challenging studies for piano.
A great master and friend played them for me, but alas, he is no longer of this earth.
I miss him very much.
In practice, these etudes are four storms.
And this one is a churning one.
