Vocalist joshua Egerman, a very talented visual artist and punk rock musician, started learning how to make music by freestyling lyrics off of hip hop instrumentals he listened to on YouTube. From 2007 to 2013, Egerman learned how to follow melody and tempo, rythm and stay on beat. Figuring out really clever, long winded intellectual subject matter, both in freestyle and written verse, he had learned how to download music instrumentals from YouTube through a YouTube to mp3 music converter onto a program called audacity, (an audio editing software) when he didn't have an instrumental a music associate would have made, and instrumental he had made or anything else to record over. Egerman had formed Dem Broke Basstardz near the middle of 2015, however, did not want to be making hip hop or rap music the whole time he was learning how to become a vocalist. In 2016, he started recording growl punk vocals, influenced by the distillers, no cash, children of bodem, the casualties, the sex pistols and the misfits, under the stage name Deathless, onto different hardcore genre instrumentals, using the same process and changing the original sound of the instrumental enough for it to not be plagiarizing but not enough to discredit the original instrumental, either. Looking back, Egerman says, " I was originally making music because it helped me overcome my pain, I never thought anyone would listen to it. I was making it for myself, only and feel bad about not giving proper credit to the instrumentals I used on the recordings I've made back when I was making them. I just didn't really assume I would be at a place where it actually mattered. I am, so, I want to give proper credit but I don't even know where to start." Self proclaimed "death-punk rocker", Egerman, has made around a dozen or more of his own punk rock instrumentals he recorded over and some he is very fond of that have no vocals. He says that Deth-Punk Rock has an apathetic positivity within a neutral personality that is slightly more bitter than classic punk rock. He says not only is the attitude different but so is its understanding.
Critics have said that it's a little emo, somewhat goth and totally punk rock. But it's really just murdered punk rock music coming back from the grave with a little bit more pissy, quiet and waiting personification about it. Like it's ready and back to bring vengeance. Josh named his one man band MINOR LACERATIONS. Joshua Scott Egerman (Deathless), being integrated into a culture, bound in secrecy, it's knowledge passed to person to person from mythology, folklore, legends, and underground lifestyles, venues, and night clubs, is intrested by vampire subject matter, way of life, politics, and law. Vampires, as he knows, are not real beings that exsist amongst humans and their reality, however the topic and lifestyle within the death punk rock and roll scene, especially, is one that the "supposed" law, culture and way of life is a must to follow. To self proclaim yourself as punkcore, you must swear, weather you believe in vampires or not (they are fantasy), to adhere to the law within a culture taught by those before them without question. My advice is don't believe anything that is untrue.
