We are really excited to welcome Melbourne artist, Mike Rish back to our onedotsixtwo family for his EP debut with us titled Quiet Pines. Mikes last musical rendezvous at aonedotsixtwo HQ was back in 2021, with his killer remix of Carla Cimino - Fractal (ODST055). 

Fast Forward 21 months and Mikes career has exploded like a ballistic missile, with a string of releases on some of the most respected labels of today such as Guy J's hallowed Lost & Found imprint and Australia's Vapour Recordings to name a few. 
Accolades like these have propelled to him into becoming one of the most in demand producers of today, with his masterful tracks and talent being embraced and supported by DJ's across the global progressive community. 

This release takes the form of 2 originals with the releases title and massive Quiet Pines and the equally devastating Stormjur. 
Both tracks encapsulate Mikes uniquely diverse and intelligent signature sound design and arrangement, that twist and augment around dark and melancholic hooks and arpeggiated riffs, like a ghost train travelling through a haunted house being steered by dirty baselines and tight drums or breakbeats for those special ‘heads down’ dancefloor moments.

Clubsonica Records rounds out the month of November with a new EP from label boss Juan Pablo Torrez and Jossem. Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Tim Green, D-Nox and more. Meanwhile, also calling Colombia home is Jossem who arrives as one of his country’s new names in progressive house. A collaborative partnership with fellow countryman Kamilo Sanclemente has yielded standout projects for Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, amongst others. Now, combining their forces for the first time via Clubsonica, Juan Pablo Torrez and Jossem unveil their ‘Lost In Love | Ambar’ EP, alongside remixes from Marcelo Vasami, Hicky & Kalo and Abity.

Lead selection ‘Lost in Love’ finds Juan and Jossem introducing the emotive vocals of Velveta. A precious talent from Cali, Colombia who has already collaborated with some of electronic music’s finest innovators and labels such as Anjunadeep, Songuara and UV. Here the trio flex their creative muscles and craft a nostalgic progressive house gem, a sprawling production that would be equally at home above a festival skyline or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of an end of the night scenario. The companion piece ‘Ambar’ follows suit and lands in equally impressive fashion with a strong sense of drive and swing heavy rhythms. Although this looping hypnotism does not fail to command your attention, its slow burning anticipation, orbiting effects and otherworldly breakdown ultimately seal what is a mid-set masterpiece. 

The first interpretation of ‘Lost in Love’ is provided by Marcelo Vasami. A recent partnership with progressive house icon Hernan Cattaneo has seen the duo become a formidable remix team. Now, making his much anticipated Clubsonica debut, Marcelo puts a touch on ‘Lost in Love’. Taking a smooth yet energetic approach, he constructs a tight rhythmic core, complemented with punchy beats, reprocessed vocals and retro chord stabs. It's this timeless fusion of sound which ultimately makes for a version that is both refreshing and club-effective; one that should crossover to a variety of dancefloors across the remainder of 2024 and on into 2025.

The final interpretation of ‘Lost in Love’ is provided by Hicky & Kalo. Although regulars throughout Quebec's much lauded club circuit, it is the world-renowned Stereo Nightclub which has served as the home base for their impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills. Also accomplished producers, the duo's deep melodic sounds have found a home on Renaissance, Watergate, and their own Plaisirs Sonores imprint. Now, they make their long awaited Clubsonica debut with an inspired rendition of ‘Lost in Love’. Opting for a contemporary club-effective approach, the duo’s muscular grooves, robust rhythmic structures and hazy vocal mutations make this ideal for the peak-time hours, when emotions are at their most receptive, in turn adding another sure fire weapon to your arsenal for the remainder of 2024.

The release concludes with Abity for the lone interpretation of ‘Ambar’. Finding a home on Clubsonica, the duo’s creative partnership with the label began in 2022 with the release of ‘Sinerxia | Lotus’, a project which now finds them returning for their first remix, as they put their own unique twist on ‘Ambar’. Adding further depth to the release, the duo artist opts for an emotive approach here, focusing on a cohesive blend of swaying grooves and trance-inducing arps, while tastefully incorporating the original’s distinctive rhythmic qualities, sealing what is a feel-good journey to round out the release in style.

Nikko.Z’s Dopamine White closes out the year by welcoming Miquel Salla to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Spain, Miquel Salla is a DJ and a computer developer who decided to start a project of continuing sound research and development within electronic music. With strong roots within the hardcore, punk, grunge, techno and minimal scenes, Miguel emerged with a series of well-received projects via Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas imprint. Now armed with a catalog that is both danceable and melancholic, Miguel adds Dopamine White to his resume with a four track showcase ‘Elevation’. 

The title track gets the release underway and sits as one of Miguel’s most emotional yet club-effective productions to date. Punchy kick drums and contoured grooves set the foundation for a narrative of rhythmic pulses, flashing percussion and timely effects. Hopeful harmonic refrains emerge across the second act, creating an emotive canopy of sound, one which results in a hazy dubbed out wave of colour and texture. Beneath the swirling qualities of ‘Elevation’ lies the equally impressive vibes of ‘Masification’. Opting for a deeper and more dubbed out approach, Miguel flexes his versatile repertoire here, as heartfelt top lines descend over tight kick drums and woody percussive arrangements for a dimly lit backroom voyage.

Selection three ‘Infinite’ marks the EP’s halfway point and pushes forward with a bigger, brighter and bolder presence. Finding a nice balance between progressive and melodic house, it’s a marriage of engaging arps and soulful vocal phrasing which carries the piece to a celestial sounding break and rejuvenating conclusion. The release concludes with the dreamy percussive qualities of ‘Elisium’. Full of detail and idiosyncrasies, the Spaniard crafts a clever coax of balmy key changes, drifting textures and ethereal melodies for a vibe that is equal parts serene and uplifting. Character and emotion are at a premium across the final act, as modulation peaks and Miguel reaffirms his ability to cast a spell over the listener to round out the EP in fine fashion.

Never one to stick to a particular stylistic blueprint, Navar effortlessly melds elements of minimal, techno, progressive and electronica. He has continually impressed since a debut on Klopfgeist imprint in 2010, building a highly impressive discography of productions for Lost & Found, microCastle, Replug, Balance Music, Sound Avenue, Proton, Higher States and more. His music routinely earns the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, Henry Saiz and a host of other respected industry figures.

Electronic music luminaries Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Chaim, 16 Bit Lolitas, Boris Werner and YokoO chose to remix the Dutch artist's creations, all of which received critical and commercial acclaim. Always looking to further his creative avenues, Navar collaborates with like minded musicians when the synergy is right. Being locked away in the studio in the early days, have led him to heights that he never could have imagined at the time. Navar set out to carve his own unique path in the world of electronic music.
Inspiration for the Dutch artist comes from many facets and moments in life, as he describes “The inspiration comes from the escape I create when I make music. Every project is a new journey and doors to different sonic avenues open with each one. I step away from reality and enter a world of imagination, surrealism and (yet to discover) forgotten dreams". 
It's no accident that Navar's contemporaries remark on the soulful qualities in his music. His inner feelings have helped create a uniquely deep and recognizable sound, as he states “My music is a reflection of my feelings, it comes from a genuine place that I want people to connect with. I feel comfortable expressing myself through music”. Navar's emotive creations have already cast lasting memories for electronic music fans across the globe. As he goes forward in his journey through sound his passion continues to grow and there's no telling how far his creative talents will reach.
