We are excited to present our newest guest mix, Institution 029: Gerard Bozyk! 

Originally from Poland, Gerard Bozyk now resides in Dublin, Ireland. Bozyk’s mixes and DJ-sets are characterized by deep rhythms and emotional melodies. His influences arise from the underground progressive house scene, and include music from labels such as Lost&Found, Anjunadeep, Perspective Digital, amongst others. These influences reflect in his excellent monthly podcast on Proton Radio: Metropolis (check it out!).

On a personal note, some of us were fortunate enough to meet Gerard this fall at ADE 2019. Super nice, down to earth guy, who is truly passionate about the music and the underground scene.

Scottish born, DJ Nadia grew up in sunny Algeria, where her interest in music started and as she practised her art, she became heavily involved in the local scene. 


Over the last 15 years, ever since she embarked on her musical journey, she crafted her DJ skills and is no stranger to the Progressive house arena, her style of Djing has been influenced by the legends; Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren and Sasha & Digweed to name a few, and brings us unrivalled pure progressive house vibes.



Nadia has been based in the UK for last 2 years, playing alongside great names such as Kasper Koman, Budakid, Paul Hazendonk, Alfonso Muchacho, Moshic, GMJ & Matter and Habischman at amazing events run by the likes of Modern Agenda, the Prog Lab & Progressive Astronaut …all of this without forgetting her active contribution to the Algerian local scene.

Episode 35 -  Alain Pauwels

Alain Pauwels is a Belgian progressive house deejay, based near Antwerp.

Led by a profound love for progressive house music, surrounded by passionate professionals, practitioners and a supportive progressive house family, Alain Pauwels has been driven to share his passion of mixing sublime tracks and to bring joy across all boundaries.

Inspired by amazing deejays and producers such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Marcelo Vasami, Graziano Raffa and many more artists from the Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Lost & Found family and other well respected labels, Alain has been encouraged on his mixing and sound creation and started sharing his mixes under the PROGRESSIVA concept on Soundcloud.

His dedication to provide uplifting progressive house mixing, with an occasional flavor of deep house and melodic techno, has eventually been recognized in November 2018 by respected deejays in the Amsterdam progressive house scene which got him in touch with the Proton Radio station, which led to the point that Alain was requested to provide a VS guest mix. This resulted vastly in clinching his spot in the Proton Radio resident dj-team with his own monthly PROGRESSIVA show which started in March 2019. Apart from the Proton radio show, he is also performing monthly on the Belgian internet radio station XBEAT.
Adding live gigs to the list are the next objective, which started experimental in June 2019 at private progressive house parties. Alain is now performing frequently at Club NL, an Amsterdam club icon and “must go” during Amsterdam Dance Event.

Hailing from the Netherlands, building a relationship with music through an array of equipment where he developed the hallmark of his analogue/digital sound.
Never one to stick to a particular stylistic blueprint, Navar effortlessly melds elements of minimal, techno, progressive and electronica. He has continually impressed since a debut on Klopfgeist imprint in 2010, building a highly impressive discography of productions for Lost & Found, microCastle, Replug, Balance Music, Sound Avenue, Proton, Higher States and more. His music routinely earns the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, Henry Saiz and a host of other respected industry figures.

Electronic music luminaries Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Chaim, 16 Bit Lolitas, Boris Werner and YokoO chose to remix the Dutch artist's creations, all of which received critical and commercial acclaim. Always looking to further his creative avenues, Navar collaborates with like minded musicians when the synergy is right. Being locked away in the studio in the early days, have led him to heights that he never could have imagined at the time. Navar set out to carve his own unique path in the world of electronic music.
Inspiration for the Dutch artist comes from many facets and moments in life, as he describes “The inspiration comes from the escape I create when I make music. Every project is a new journey and doors to different sonic avenues open with each one. I step away from reality and enter a world of imagination, surrealism and (yet to discover) forgotten dreams". 
It's no accident that Navar's contemporaries remark on the soulful qualities in his music. His inner feelings have helped create a uniquely deep and recognizable sound, as he states “My music is a reflection of my feelings, it comes from a genuine place that I want people to connect with. I feel comfortable expressing myself through music”. Navar's emotive creations have already cast lasting memories for electronic music fans across the globe. As he goes forward in his journey through sound his passion continues to grow and there's no telling how far his creative talents will reach.
