Wildwood is truly honoured to bring you Rainbow Serpent Festival's Mad Monday Closing Set by none other than our soul brother Patrice Baumel. 

Patrice has a few words he would like to say... 

“Ahead of my GU42 Berlin album release on March 29th, I wanted to share a very special live set from the other side of the planet. Like Berlin, Rainbow Serpent is an anomaly on the rave map. This mix will be online for a very limited period only:

The best dance floor in the world. That’s the Market Stage of Rainbow Serpent Festival to me. The energy of the Rainbow tribe, the rabid vibe and feeling of unity are difficult to describe to anyone who has not been here. Simply standing on the dancefloor and experience this incredible sound system is one of life’s finer pleasures. I felt absolutely honoured to be trusted with the task to close the festival. Looking onto the dancefloor from the dj booth, the Market Stage painted a beautiful picture. The atmosphere was electric and love-drunk all day, Nick Warren and D-Nox brought their A-game.

This is my third year in a row playing here and the absolute highlight on my yearly calendar. In these years my wife and I have made friends for life here, which is why we release this mix with our beloved Wildwood crew. We have grown extremely fond of Australia as a country. This place has received us with open arms from day one and never fails to blow our minds in many different ways. It has become our second home.

Oh, the trials and tribulations that this year has seen! Now as the year comes to a close, with our dancing shoes gathering a bit of dust, we look to the new year for hope and the possibility of physically coming together in the name of music once again. In the meantime, our eyes and ears have been peeled for new sounds and rising stars. Taking center stage for this Foxcast, we present @Budakid, an upcoming talent that is making waves out of the Netherlands with an enviable release catalog. Providing us with a beautifully mellow yet uplifting mix that eases the senses and the mind, Budakid helps us smoothly navigate out of the turbulence of 2020 and into a new era.

Effervescent at times, moodier at others, this Foxcast encompasses the qualities and sentiments that Melodic House fans love most – elation, morale-boosting, the inclination to dance, darker musical twists that always return to melodic sounds, providing a euphoric elevation of the mind. One cannot help the cliché of throwing their hands in the air - even older jaded stalwarts of the dance floor have no shame in admitting so. It is quite evident that Melodic House greats like Guy J and Sasha have an intrinsic influence on Budakid’s production style and musical tastes in this carefully crafted Foxcast, which also features tracks by the likes of Joseph Ashworth, Deetron, Frankey & Sandrino, and Shiffer.

Budakid’s beginnings may not have been very different from other DJs, however, it is his music and proficiency at production that sets him apart. Naveen G is no newcomer to the scene having made his start in 1996 hosting his own show on the influential WNUR 89.3FM Streetbeat Radio that launched the careers of many of his peers originating in Chicago.  Having caught the attention of world class DJs with his very first productions which were licensed to the seminal Global Underground series, Naveen G has fostered his own sound, one that is consistently hailed as exploring the late night side of the dancefloor, straying far from the conventional formula, yet still garnering acclaim from DJs and clubbers alike.
 
From breaks to techno and everything in between, or manning the ambient room for many hours, Naveen G's productions reflect his DJing ability to adapt to the room and the headliner, drawing on his diverse range.  Equally comfortable warming up a room properly as a resident for Cityfox NYC or playing on his own deep into the night, Naveen has brought his unique and varied style to the unsuspecting dancefloors across the world from South America to Asia, where they have learned to expect the unexpected.
