This haiku reminds me of the full moon lit nights that do look like a spooky kind of daylight in the bush- from the chirping insects I imagine drifting back in moon time, many moons and thousands of years.

Many moons ago(NaviarHaiku363)

My original thought was to make a synth insect chirp, but in the end I started experimenting with cross modulating oscillators with noise, filters and VCAs and used that as a 'insect' texture. The bright repeated element was meant to evoke the procession of night, while the drones were the darkness and moon. I think some field recorded ambience would have been a nice addition, but overall it worked okay.

this is ¶radio hummingbird's contribution to the Naviar Haiku music challenge volume #363. each week participants are asked to create a piece of music in response to a provided haiku poem (see above).

this piece has been recorded on a eurorack modular synthesizer in one single take. the only outboard effects utilised have been a singing wine glass and a cassette tape echo directly interfaced with the modular. a daw has only been used for a light mastering of the recording.

this week's poem is magic. and so is the track i tried to create in response to it. put it on endless looping and forget about time and space.......
