To participate in the Haiku Music challenge:

- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)
- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku382)”

To submit your track:

- If you’re a Soundcloud user, upload it on Soundcloud and send me the URL via private message, or tag me in the track.
- If you upload your music on Youtube, Bandcamp or anywhere else, upload your submission and then send me the link by email at marco@naviarrecords.com or contact me on X, Facebook or Instagram

Performed and mixed in a single live improvisation** from elements assembled in virtual modular using Voltage Modular from Cherry Audio. Other than mastering no additional effects were used.

For the caged canary I edited together the parts I liked from a set of samples I sourced from Freedsound:

This was randomised and extended using the Granular Synth module from Adroit Synthesis. After the first appearance of the "Butterflies" this song is distorted with envy using The Zeit Voltage-Controlled Delay Line and associated Time Stream Integrator both from Dome Music Technologies'  Zeit Year 50 Collection.

**  Having used probabilistic switching (DMT Bernoulli), to decide the direction of the Butterflies, which worked fine while developing the patch, during the recording the virtual coin came up Heads seven times in a row :) So yes I cheated and reversed the left/right channels on a couple of them.
