At Bishop’s Primary, we celebrate the uniqueness and talents of every child. Our team of professionals care about the children in our care and we have high expectations of behaviour and achievement in all areas and therefore focus equally on the personal, social and academic development of all of our pupils. Our state-of-the-art campus boasts a range of fabulous facilities and opportunities both indoors and outdoors to provide a stimulating and exciting learning environment.
Pupils take part in a range of instrumental lessons, musical projects and extra curricular clubs. Every child in KS2 has instrumental lessons for up to 3 years with the aim to take a grade 1 standard assessment at the end of year 6. We are predominantly a string specialist school, with pupils receiving guitar, mandolin, ukulele, cello, violin and tuned percussion lessons.

At the Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust, we believe it is important for our pupils to see the joy music can bring throughout your whole life. Staff and members of the local community regularly have the opportunity to join in with musical performances, both for our pupils and for our own wellbeing and professional development.
