For our first tape, the Icon of Sin presents to you 8 post-industrial society techno-electro tracks perfect for the Neo-Feudalist workhouse!

Undoubtably our bleakest release yet, they’ll really get you going (to work past a reasonable retirement age) in their grim and grey grooves, baby!

Futuristic and technologically led past the point of return, drowning in a muddy ancient river; the album conjures a world of firing pistons, frightened people and automated production lines.
The downtempo doomsday soundscapes are at once Detroit Electro, London Hardcore, Norwegian Black Metal and (dare I say it) Berlin Techno.

Here's a blurb from the icon himself:

“I wrote this album over a short period of time (about one week) in 2021. At the time I was living in Hackney central, in a relatively small and cold flat next to the loud Mare Street. I was going through a particularly dark and hopeless period of time due to isolation and post lockdown depression.
The windows of the flat were paper thin, vibrating loudly, too often. I had a lots of sleepless nights, which resulted in this record. I worked in a bottling line at the time, the industrial and repetitive, almost dehumanising environment definitely influenced this album.

The music was written fully on my Octatrack (apart for the track “Benders” which was performed with my modular rack). Everything has been recorded in one take as it comes out from the machine, with minimal mixing and mastering and no post production.
The sonic palette features a couple eurorack modules, sampling from Italian television and whatnot; but most importantly a lot of field recording of machineries I found in the factory I was working at, as well as random captures of environments around me - including Hackney’s busy streets - all mangled and arranged in the Octatrack.

Diagrams of ascent/descent, planes over Heathrow/Tegel/JFK/other airports are available.
Organisms, microscopic, enlarged, burrow, through, telephone, cables, even, now.
The iterative combat of every day life and other over-dramatic crescendos.
How it feels to be interrogated, and maybe you like to be interrogated, and maybe that is okay too.
Endless pantomime of analogue collapsing/machinery bimbedying around.
Sound of eleven sugar-fuelled children bouncing on a bouncy castle with no adults supervising.
End.

In line with our club nights in Rotterdam, we now join production forces to make our first steps as a label. Finding each other in an unorthodox approach while coming from different artistic backgrounds, we complement each other to shape the varied musical environment that we aspire.

Talked to you on the phone the other day—WhatsApp voice call—and I noticed the dissecting and unsettling silence fading in between each spoken word, like someone holding the breath or stopping time. Or a tap closed between each filling of a glass. It was a clean, cleansed, silence—one purified by the dullness of calculation, of automation, of regulation and optimisation.
I remember the feeling of talking with friends via landline connection—it felt like a direct channel opened up between our ears and tongues, an airiness of circulation. I could hear the other person breathing and the slight static noise of electricity hardwiring us. Now I don't hear the other person's breath anymore—the algorithmic sound detection for controlling the threshold of the microphone transmission seems to not register breath as a signal deemed necessary for communication.

@corinmusic is an artist from Melbourne who recently released her first full-length album “Manifest” on Bedouin Records. She calls it her ‘cyberpunk tribute’ and merged the whole previous experience as an artist, her EP series as well as classical education at the Sydney Conservatory in 10 deep mythological tracks. The slowly-moving storyline of Tightmix includes tracks by ssaliva, Scintii, DETENTE tracks and a final copestone "Ihnaemiauimx" by M.E.S.H.
