The NDYD Radio Show EP405

Episode 406 lands with only one mission - to make you dance like nobody's watching. New music that covers Deep House, Soulful House, Garage House and just feel good House. New promo from B&S Concept ( @inaouse ) and a throwback from one of the biggest artists (DJ & Producer) from the last two decades. You know who he is and you know his music but did you know his music before he got super famous and took over the world? Let's see if you can guest what track and who it is in this episode. Hint - his music was coming out at the time on a San Francisco label that only has two letters to its name. Did you figure it out? :) Only true House Heads from the late 90s and early 2000s will know.

The Discography Lessons is an independent UK-record label whose mission is about more than just music. The Discography Lessons Takeover (Ben Banjo Field & Even Funkier) - Spin City, Ep. 387

Just a one hour session this week as I slowly recover from being ill, but since it’s my first one in three weeks it felt like I had to do some sort of mix. Kept this one slow and slinky, around the 100BPM mark throughout, and managed to cover a good amount of ground in 60 minutes - with some P-Funk, some Hip Hop, some R&B and some sexy disco vibes.

It’s the start of the month, which means we welcome those Pookie Knights boys once again, fresh from their triumphant mini tour of the White Island of Ibiza. The lads are priming the sonic warp nacelles ready for another two hour spectacular which is sure to cause widespread kitchen dancing and armchair frivolity - all in the comfort of your own home!

The NDYD Radio Show EP15

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
