Airing on MyHouse Radio on Monday 17th Feb 2020, the Black Light Disco Show brought in the big guns for this one. For the two hours we had the dream team up of Goz followed by Pookie Knights. For the first hour Goz showcases new music and promos from the likes of Castle Queenside, Hotmood, Sleazy McQueen & Vagabond Social Club, Onda Cuts, Souldynamic and Get Down Edits. For the second hour, Pookie Knights dig deep into the darkest recesses of the Discophere with tracks from Hubie Davison, Luther van Dross, Munky Fike and Duck Sauce, with a spotlight feature on two tracks which are ringing their bells from DJ Delivery and Rosso.

Black Light Disco Show 17th Feb 2020 - Goz and Pookie Knights

Another fantastic Black Light Disco show on www.myhourseradio.fm on Monday 12th April 2020. Not only did we have the Pookie Knights lads laying down some serious disco grooves for the first hour (including cheeky drops of their own reworks), for the second half of the show we had the cherry on top of all cakes, a very special guest mix from none other than Monsieur Van Pratt! 

MVP - aka Jesùs Rodrigez is a musician, producer and DJ from México whose talents seem to know no bounds. Jesùs is also the label owner and head honcho of the super-cool @superspicyrecords. This label has been extremely important to Black Light Disco so it was our absolute pleasure to have Jesùs on the show. The way MVP mixes vibes from the late seventies disco, eighties funk and the catchy rhythm of jazz, creates a very unique sound and very groovy atmosphere. He has been performing all around Mexico in several cities, clubs, parties and stages, having the chance to share scenario with major names on the music industry such as James Richardson (MGMT), Thris Tian (Boiler Room), Jupiter, Thieves Like Us, Vagabundo Club Social, Hotmood, The Funk District, Mike Simonetti, Gledd, Clubz, Shiro Schwarz, and so many more. You know what I really miss since this whole pandemic started? Playing at and attending the great Deep House underground parties that we had here in Los Angeles. Those events that went on until the sun came up and wether you were on drugs or not the music would creep inside of you and just took you on this trip where  you literally dance like no one was watching. No one was cause those warehouses were so dark :) 

People who follow the show know me for playing disco, edits and boogie shaking House but my love has always been in underground Deep House. Back in the days, here in the city (also in Miami, NY, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, etc) I used to play a lot of unannounced undergrounds and this episode is a pretty indicative on what I used to bring to the musical (turn) table. If you've never attended any of those underground where I was a guest you might be surprised by this set. Let me know if you dig it since I've only touched the surface of the underground deep I have in my crates.

Ricardo Torres is a West Coast DJ whose sound blends deep, soulful house and disco with the smooth, sun-kissed energy of Los Angeles. His mixes are crafted for true dance floor devotees—uplifting, groovy, and deeply rooted in the underground.

Ricardo began his DJ journey in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, later discovering Chicago House and falling in love with its raw emotion and rhythm.
