Welcome to EP-187 of the NDYD Radio Show. This week we have a a return guest taking over the show all the way from the UK, DJ Martin Taylor - @djmartintaylor

“Martin Taylor started DJing at an early age after being mentored by his father in North Wales, UK. Alan Taylor was a renowned successful Motown, Disco, Northern Soul, Funk and Soul DJ. Martin quickly understood the ingredients required to stand out and read the crowd well, ensuring repeat bookings kept flowing in. Even at this young age Martin was innovative and creative in his dynamic mixing skills which have since been credited by Erick Morillo in Spain, who watched Martin perform a full two hour set. As Martin hit teenager status he had already established himself at the local clubs as promising future talent. This recognition opened up a multitude of gigs and events all over England and Wales which led to solo appearances at events in Puerto Banus, Detroit, Liverpool, Ibiza, Bahrain, Birmingham, Cyprus, Singapore London and Abu Dhabi to name a few. Martin was also hand picked to become a resident DJ for a brand new Ministry of Sound super club in Asia, which included a full-time residency at the world's first Hed Kandi bar, famed for its chic and glamorous decor.

Martin remains at the forefront of the Disco-House scene, championing exceptional music and boasts a huge library of rare gems and forgotten classics.

He is influenced by the likes of Def Mix, Hacienda UK, Ministry of Sound, Soul Heaven, Studio 54, Paradise Garage, Glitterbox, LDF, Z Records, Pacha and Soulfuric, amongst many other brands and labels”

The NDYD Radio Show EP193 - guest mix by aJaX - Seattle

Well, we are sure getting closer to magic 200 number in terms of episodes. That is a lot of hours of music! The last episode was all about edits to make us feel nostalgic of the 70s and 80s but we are back to the present with EP195 as fantastic underground music is still being made.

This episode is full of promos and soon to be release tracks from such labels as Salted Music and NDYD. Check out our next release by @tommy_glasses 'Another Day' (track 8 in the set). Also solid releases by mr Traxsource himself @djdank13 that I've had on non stop rotation. The sets finishes strong with my friend and sista @lisa-shaw and her new release with Immaculate Styles. You know what I really miss since this whole pandemic started? Playing at and attending the great Deep House underground parties that we had here in Los Angeles. Those events that went on until the sun came up and wether you were on drugs or not the music would creep inside of you and just took you on this trip where  you literally dance like no one was watching. No one was cause those warehouses were so dark :) 

People who follow the show know me for playing disco, edits and boogie shaking House but my love has always been in underground Deep House. Back in the days, here in the city (also in Miami, NY, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, etc) I used to play a lot of unannounced undergrounds and this episode is a pretty indicative on what I used to bring to the musical (turn) table. If you've never attended any of those underground where I was a guest you might be surprised by this set. Let me know if you dig it since I've only touched the surface of the underground deep I have in my crates.

Future Disco Radio - 048 - Visions of Love Guest Mix

Only one show away from the magic 200! But before that we have EP-199 with a very special guest from Seattle. I had the pleasure to meet Parker (@parkermills) when I was going to play in that great city for the Stayin' Alive Parties and others. Parker is one of the residents there and after hearing this set you will understand why.

His bio reads:

Cutting his teeth in the Miami house scene, Parker moved to Seattle in 2017 with a mission to bring the sounds he was influenced by to Seattle. His penchant for Soul, Disco, and leftfield house led to an opportunity to open for the legendary Questlove, as well as gaining the first residency of Seattle’s very own weekly disco revival, Stayin Alive. Whether it’s experimental house, Nu Disco, or soul classics, he has a singular focus on music that evokes an emotional response on the dance floor. Ricardo Torres is a West Coast DJ whose sound blends deep, soulful house and disco with the smooth, sun-kissed energy of Los Angeles. His mixes are crafted for true dance floor devotees—uplifting, groovy, and deeply rooted in the underground.

Ricardo began his DJ journey in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, later discovering Chicago House and falling in love with its raw emotion and rhythm. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, he found inspiration in the city’s soulful spirit and from influential DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs.
