Over the last few months I've had a few listeners reach out and ask when was I going to do another  lounge/downtempo show. As you know, DJs hate getting requests but for this I had to oblige.  I listen to this style of music all day long as I work and it's true that it has been a while since I done a set with this vibe. Future Disco Radio - 125 - Future Sound Special

This past Saturday just when I was about to record the radio show some unexpected friends that I hadn't seen in a very long time showed up at my house. Next thing I know a bottle of tequila had been open and we were reminiscing about our old club days. One thing led to another and I started playing music for us to showcase the new tracks I had just acquired and hit the record button. Why not right? 

I am glad I did because one thing was confirmed, I play much better when people are around. A couple of more friends showed up and we had a small 'House Party' figuratively and stylistically speaking. I am really happy how the recording turned out and instead of picking an hour section that was worthy of the show I decided to use the whole thing raw and unedited (minus the drops) cause I really loved it all.

Technically this is a 'Live from' recording like I have done in the past from clubs but this time it's 'Live from my living room'. I invite you to join my little house party and dance with us. We even moved the coffee table to make room ;)

I am still buzzing and coming down from last weekend's trip to San Francisco where a friend and I attended the Remedy reunion in the city. I got so inspired by experiencing Julius Papp, Mr. V, David Harness, Jay-J, Miguel Migs, amd Mark Farina all under one roof and back to back that I couldn't wait to get back and record a new episode. These guys had a huge influence on my musical direction when I moved to LA in the mid to late 90s and some of them even became close friends.

I felt I had to dig little deeper in the crates for this episode to honor these guy's talent and legacy. Hence, EP-249 :)

Ricardo Torres is a West Coast DJ whose sound blends deep, soulful house and disco with the smooth, sun-kissed energy of Los Angeles. His mixes are crafted for true dance floor devotees—uplifting, groovy, and deeply rooted in the underground.

Ricardo began his DJ journey in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, later discovering Chicago House and falling in love with its raw emotion and rhythm. After moving to Los Angeles in 1995, he found inspiration in the city’s soulful spirit and from influential DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs.

An early pioneer of online mix sharing in 2000, Ricardo quickly gained international recognition, leading to global performances and radio syndication. In 2016, he partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD) to launch the NDYD Radio Show, a weekly showcase of modern Nu Disco and soulful house that continues to attract a devoted worldwide audience.

Across decades and evolving trends, Ricardo’s mission remains the same: to share music that uplifts, connects, and celebrates the enduring groove of house.
