I've been very busy these last few weeks with multiple projects. I did not have time to record a new show this week so instead I am posting a live set I did this summer for a private event for a company called SACO in New York City. The audience was very diverse so I kept the music light and mid-tempo with a lot of edits that they would recognize. Apologies for the roughness in the first few mixes but I had monitor issues. Once they fixed it it went smooth as butter :) Hey, it's live.

This is only two and half hours of the 6 hour (!) set I did. Maybe in the future I will post the rest. Next week we return with a special guest from Miami.

Welcome to EP-180 of the NDYD Radio Show. Lately I haven't been too inspired with the new music, remixes and edits that are coming out. Might be just a phase I'm going through cause there are so many talented artists and producers out there but not too much has gotten me excited. In that vein I decided to dig deep in my old hard drives and found so many unreleased (or barely noticed) edits and remixes that were collecting dust from the last 10 years. This is stuff that I don't remember ever using on the radio show. They are all tracks that are still standing the passing of time and will feel new to a lot of people. I have a ton of these so I'm breaking up in multiple parts. Part one, here, is mainly stuff that I received in 2011-12.

I hope you discover tracks you haven't heard before and if you have that it will trigger some good memories of when you heard it first.

After a successful run with Essex-based edit king, Chuggin Edits, Slow Mo Lounge is back with another round of infectious, slow-mo grooves to round off a COVID year. This time they feature Buenos Aires native (and now living in London), producer slash DJ, FabioLous Barker. 

Kongisto had this to say about the latest mix: 'Working with Fabio has been awesome, after collecting and buying his music for a while, it's a dream come true to feature a stalwart who understands and knows how to make quality slow-mo music that I love. I really enjoyed working with him and we hope our collective efforts translate into something our followers will enjoy too.'

FabioLous Barker started his deejaying career in 1983 as the local kid in Buenos Aires armed with nothing but two cassette tape recorders. As a producer, Fabio started creating remixes and compilations in high school, rapidly gaining popularity amongst his peers - requests to play at different parties in his hometown soon followed.

Highly influenced by British New Wave, Electropop, and Synthpop, bands like Soft Cell, Fad Gadget, Duran Duran, and Japan - this laid the foundation for his own musical output. His live debut came in 1987 where he sang and played keyboard synthesizers in a (short-lived) local synth-pop band. 1989 he made the move to deejaying professionally playing in clubs using his unique blend of Belgian New Beat and Acid House. 

In the 90s, after working at leading record stores in town, his passion for vinyl grew to not only one but owning three records stores of his own. In 2006, he finally made the move to London, a place where he felt he could combine two of his biggest passions: digging for analog equipment from the 80s plus disco-funk, and so FabioLous Barker was born.

FabioLous Barker is no stranger to working with nu-disco pioneers, having created remixes with the likes of Cole Medina, Dim Zach, Evil Smarty, Jay Airiness, Cut Master, Exotic Contrast, Sare Havlicek, Phil Disco, C. Da Afro, Kellini, Nicko Marinelli, Ziggy Phunk, Tomas Malo, Soultronic, DownUnder Disco, Funk Hunk, Jayl Funk, Chewy Rubs, Ash Reynolds, Henri Le Blanc, Saskin S, Cuz Electric, Don Dayglow, Limpodisco, and Situation (to name a few).

His production credits include Ganbatte Records (his own record label), Deep Sense. Midnight Riot, Katakana, Sound Exhibitions, Hotbox Boogie, Alpaca Edits,  And Friends, Masterworks Music, Sound Exhibitions, Disco Fruit, and Electric Friends.

The mix is a sultry combination of lounge, house, beatdown soul, nu-disco, and slow-mo.  It features loads of new music, familiar favorites, and classics from different record labels and artists from around the world.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
