Munich club label RUFFHOUSE are back with the fourth instalment of their annual compilation series, which continues to shine a light on some of the wildest, upfront club mutations from across the globe.

To be released on a limited edition CD and digitally, the 13-track compilation welcomes back label regulars like Koala, Lowquid, Yonkers Tale and Mignon, as well as label head Top Shotta and a stellar list of guest contributors including L-Vis 1990, Desto and Filter Dread.

Taking over a year to compile, ‘RUFFHOUSE VOL.4’ is the latest in a line of compilations that have proved a goldmine for abstract, exploratory and borderless club sounds since 2015, as well as spotlighting Munich-based artists like veteran producer duo Schlachthofbronx and sharp-tongued rapper, Sturmmaske. Building a micro-community around every comp, label head Top Shotta has quietly established RUFFHOUSE as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking, consistently innovative small hubs.

Summertime is rounding the bend, the nights keep getting longer...not a bad time for a fresh release from your dear friends at Sweat Equity. This month we’re proud to present the debut record, Sensi, from Chicago’s Millia (née Akeem Asani), a five track EP that offers a first-look at a spitfire talent. With early nods from Genome 66.6 and JEROME, his work has been sizzling for a minute, and we’re thrilled to release it for all you ravers out there.

On Sensi, Millia makes the case that Chicago's tradition of musical mutation is alive and well, unleashing a string of warped rave bangers and club cuts that cover an impressive amount of ground. Playfully hyper-active, enthusiastically multi-layered, call them what you will, these are a set of tracks that elude easy definitions of genre or style.

We're thrilled to present BDU for u here today, a spicy colab with fellow Chicagoan @michaelaurelius, come aaaaaaaaaand get it!!!!

NKC follows up his April release on Martyn’s 3024 label – ‘Honest Drums’ on the FYE mini compilation series – with a hard hitting two track single: Posh Buzz (ETS005).

The title track – named after the way his friend described MDMA when they were teenagers – is hard drum meets tech house: a hypnotic spin-cycle layering warped carnival hits atop choppy cymbals. For the B-side, NKC finally unleashes Hissing – a dramatic drum tool featuring warehouse-sized claps and punishing kick stabs. Use it wisely.

Oppressed, submerged, but packed with tremendous energy — that is how Out of Fashion Boys feels about Beijing as a city, as well as the way it defines itself as a label. As the political and cultural center of China, Beijing radiates such a unique charm that one simply cannot find another Chinese city similar to it. Though Beijing is not the most economically developed city in China, all the cultures that it cultivates will never be completely consumed by market economy. It is able to protect or even hinder a culture from commercialization until its next big explosion. Take the Beijing rock’n’roll scene as an example — it is hard to believe that there is almost a 3-decade gap between its two major explosions. Out of Fashion Boys managed to gather a diverse group of musicians into one record, with assistance of the unique energy of Beijing City. 12 groups of artists the label has previously invited to perform live have come together this time to work on the compilation Out of Fashion Boys Vol.1.

In this compilation, you will hear the creation by producer Zean, who is currently based in Shanghai. As a Chinese himself, he contributed to this compilation the most clever sonic take on the atmosphere of the Chinese capital. 
You will hear Berlin producer Goro, who sampled China Airlines’ public announcement in his track.
Paris-based producer King doudou set fire to the compilation with lush club beats that are spiced up with oriental flavors. 
Wrack from Tokyo titled his own track as Hot Pot.

你还能听到采样了中国航空播音的柏林制作人Goro；

Ruffhouse Industries line up their second release of 2020 – the ‘Energia’ EP from Ruffhouse resident Koala, featuring three new originals and three remixes connecting the dots between UK funky, hard drum, baile funk, and UK garage.
Helsinki-based Koala has been a part of the Ruffhouse crew since 2014, with previous appearances on every Rufftrax compilation from the label. The release, dedicated to the memory of Koala’s late friend Tommi, is his debut EP and displays his love of percussive club music from across the globe.
