This is C64 retro band 6581 performing the world famous tune from The Last Ninja II on Back in Time Live Stockholm 2008. 6581 consisted of Reyn Ouwehand (MacMagix), Eike Steffen (Romeo Knight), Andreas Wallström (Morpheus) and Anders Larsson. The music was originally written by Matt Gray.

This track is from my 2009 www.c64audio.com remix album, rakBIT. It was composed by Martin Galway. I think I never finished the original Parallax game but the original SID tune was burnt instantly to my mind so it was among the first tracks that were created for the album. In parts, it includes over 30 simultaneous guitar tracks. Guitar was a stock Squier '51 for clean and a Warmoth LPS for the solo. The guitar gear was my axe into a slightly overdriven TLAudio tube microphone preamp that ran directly into the audio interface, no guitar amps cabs whatsoever. A KORG G1 line out (into the TLAudio) was used for the solo.

Test of the Palmer Bass Pocket Amp, played with a noname P-bass. I put an EHX bass preacher comp before the preamp, but that's the only effect on this recordnig.

1. finger (line signal, only preamp, modern cab sim, vintage cab sim)
2. pick (line signal, only preamp, modern cab sim, vintage cab sim)
3. warm finger sound (clean mode)
4. heavy overdrive sonud (overdrive mode, pick)
5. RATM Know Your Enemy sound (fuzz mode, finger)
6. crazy swell effect with the saturate knob (fuzz mode, palm muted pick)

A track about the duality of self. The way you sometimes feel trapped by your own thought patterns and the attempt to overcome them.

Wrote it in 2006 or so. It went through a number of iterations before ending up what it is today. Early versions sounded more like Covenant than anything else.

Massive thanks to NecroPolo and Andreas Wallström for dragging this over the finishing line and pushing me to actually release it. Took a while, because it felt a bit too personal.
