Luke Slater’s most well known pseudonym Planetary Assault Systems is back in the fullest swing with 'No Exit', a standalone EP following his famed 'Deep Heet' installment series. 'No Exit' unmistakably bears all the hallmarks of Planetary Assault System, from mind-tripping and floor-stirring hypnotic energy to the theme of pushing the outer limits of unknown territories.
The EP kicks off with the title track, at its first breath of rolling beat already infusing an ample dose of psychedelic madness, which only to be intensified with the layers of digital chime tones that are constantly multiplying and shape-shifting. “Undertow” on the B side continues with the signature warping and reverberating bells and bleeps but this time with enticing hi-hats and distorted bass, gradually all melting into one big sinister groove. The last track of the EP “Nanendi” might fool you in the beginning with its minimalistic beat, but as soon as the demure yet ominous veil of melody - beautifully moody and almost spooky at times - starts humming and howling, it’s well on its way to make a deep, haunting emotional connection while keeps the tension boiling. Without a doubt 'No Exit' EP is the one that shows the most distinctive core DNA of Planetary Assault Systems and much like his seminal album The Messenger, it’s a deadly unique, dazzling, and powerfully effective work that will stand the test of time.

DJ, Producer and Label Owner Sebastian Groth discovered early his musically interests. At basic school he already created his first „band“. In the early 90s he sympathized with the electronic music in form of Rave, Gabber and Dancemusic So quickly emerged the instrumental music. At the age of 12, he acquired his first music producer software. He learned fast, so only two years later followed the turntables and his DJ career took its course… Bookings in big named clubs like U60311 / Frankfurt aM, Butan Club / Wuppertal, Tresor / Berlin, or at techno festivals as Nature One or Ruhr in Love , are only a few of the stations on his DJ-career. From the years 2000-2006 he operated a notorious party series “the castle-freaks“ as original member, presenter and resident – DJ. He brought the first world elite DJ..s to the little scene in Westerwald, Germany and celebrated relevant achievements. In September 2008 his first international Records was released and landed straightaway in the top 5 of many relevant clubmusic-store charts. Through this release „House Legend" George Morel gets attention to him, who loved his stuff and signs him to his well known label "Groove on" and gave Sebastian a chance to Remix Morels club classicer "lets groove" 2009, Sebastian started his own Label: ReWashed LDT. Since that time it goes on and on with his productions and the label. Followed releases going out on big named labels like: Italo Business, Naked Lunch, Elektrax, Construct Rhythm, TK-Rec, Reloading, and many many more. He did Already Remixes for People like:Angy Kore, Andreas Kraemer, George Morel, Frank Kvitta, Niereich, Arkus P just to name a few and these Releases are played by: Dave Clark, Chris Liebing, Dj Rush,Speedy J, Len Faki, Dubfire, Laurent Gamier, Space Djz, Monika Kruse, Gayle San, the Advent, Umek and the most other big named Techno Djs

MOTE032 :: Planetary Assault Systems  - Deep Heet Volume 3

Planetary Assault Systems presents Deep Heet Volume 3, the third instalment of one of Luke Slater’s most seminal series to date on Mote-Evolver and carrying on the series of intergalactic exploration. 

Voltan rips the EP open. Inspired by the Mayan god of drums and the earth, Voltan is underpinned by primal desires. Huge bass drives the track forward and an angry undercarriage whirls deep below. Peppered with snares and licks of white noise, the EP starts as it means to go on.

Pygar’s futuristic sound palette is utterly hypnotic. Loops are layered insistently and despite the 4/4 structure a disorientating soundscape emerges. Filled with sounds that could just as well have been sampled from a space station as coaxed from a synthesiser, Pygar is optimised for the chaotic afterhours.

On the flip side the abstract references are abandoned in favour of the concrete. Turn erupts with syncopated rhythms, metallic rasps and mechanical warning signals. It’s the stuff of industrial nightmares.

Flat Tire is built on an angular bed of noise and interspersed with low, deep rumblings. The track fans outwards as ecstatic details are layered one upon another, ensuring that the EP closes on an enduringly hypnotic note.

Planetary Assault Systems has created four tracks that don’t play by the rules. Deep Heet Volume 3 is Luke Slater yet again innovating with four tracks that fuse together the experimental, the bold and the brutal.

In September 2008 his first international Records was released and landed straightaway in the top 5 of many relevant national clubmusic-store charts. Through this release „House Legend" George Morel gets attention to him, who loved his stuff and signs him to his well known label "Groove on" and gave Sebastian a chance to Remix Morels club classicer "lets groove" 2009, he started his own Label: ReWashed LDT. Since that time it goes on and on with his productions and the label. Followed releases going out on big named labels like: Italo Business,Naked Lunch, Elektrax, Construct Rhythm, TK-Rec, Android Musiq, Amazone and many many more. He did Allready Remixes for People like:Andreas Krämmer, George Morel, Niereich, Arkus P, Hackler & Kuch, Cortechs, A-Brothers just to name a few and these Releases are played by: Dave Clark, Chris Liebing,Dj Rush, Len Faki, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Laurent Ganier, Space Djz, Monika Kruse, Gayle San, the Advent, Umek and the most other big named Techno Djs!

"Some of you may be aware of The Electro Boogie series on !k7. Well to cut a long story short the series was my idea (hence it being named after my X-Mix also on !k7), but for whatever reason I only did two releases (Electro Boogie 2)with Aux 88 and Depth Charge (both artists that I respect heavily)  supplying some mixes.

Next week on 3fm it is 90's request week and I thought as I have just found a "Working" copy* on cd which was recorded in October 1998 that it would be a good idea to in fact  include it almost in it's complete duration. This will be the first time this mix will have ever been heard outside and even though it is a working copy I thought why not? It includes "Apple Mac Victoria" naming the tracks for me to help with reference.

I am still trying to locate the 2nd cd, as I was planning a double release."

*Working copy means a rough mix to give an idea of a finished product. The mix was not perfected and was only a reference. It was recently found alongside a few other "lost" mixes.
Please be aware that this was recorded in the late 90's and the audio quality reflects that.

DJ, Producer and Label Owner Sebastian Groth discovered early his musically interests. At basic school he already created his first „band“. In the early 90s he sympathised with the electronic music in form of Rave, Gabber and Dancemusic So quickly emerged the instrumental music. At the age of 12, he acquired his first music producer software. He learned fast, so only two years later followed the turntables and his DJ career took its course… Bookings in big named clubs like U60311 / Frankfurt aM, Butan Club / Wuppertal, Tresor / Berlin, or at techno festivals as Ruhr in Love , are only a few of the stations on his DJ-career. From the years 2000-2006 he operated a notorious party series “the castle-freaks“ as original member, presenter and resident – DJ. He brought the first world elite DJ..s to the little scene in Westerwald, Germany and celebrated relevant achievements.
