After ED:IT and Pennygiles killer collab ʻSet Theoryʼ did serious dance floor damage back in 2014 - and with the Ulterior Motive remix still ringing in everyoneʼs ears – it was a certainty he had to grace the label again. And heʼs stepped up with two killer cuts, this time showing the deeper side of his armoury.

ʻLong Timeʼ once again shows ED:ITʼs quality production credentials, with him once again mixing beautiful musical elements with well-crafted drums and a seriously weighty bottom end. Itʼs a track to enjoy at home, but one that you know will work well on the floor too – a serious skill, and one that is shown to perfection in these two striking cuts.

The time has come for SCAR to broaden its horizons. As a production duo Survival & Script initially made a name for themselves by supplying rugged dancefloor workouts but there is a much larger story to tell here and with The Orkyd Project album this story will be told.

Production collaborations have been kept to an absolute minimum aside from vocal features; Naomi Pryor is the ever present voice of the album with further contributions from Eleanor Higgins and Ray Uptown.

The influences for The Orkyd Project shine a further light on the story; from Bill Withers to Massive Attack via Eric B and Rakim.

When initial conversations took place between Goldie and SCAR regarding the album Goldie gave the guys full license to create whatever they wanted and what we have been given is a melting pot of 2016 London music. Soul exists beside screw face.

It's important to note that Drum n bass hasn't been abandoned by any means, the hall marks of SCAR are ever present and correct- the blue print has just been expanded upon.

London based producer, Need For Mirrors aka Joe Moses is a name that has rapidly positioned itself amongst the greats of modern Drum & Bass. His relentless output of high-quality and original material has secured releases on the scene’s most prestigious labels. In the last 2 years alone NFM has released on labels such as Full Cycle, Hospital Records and of course V Recordings & Liquid V just to name a few. 
 
Need For Mirrors returns to V for his politically charged 'Pagan EP' set for release in early December. Reflecting on the strange and turbulent times we're living through, NFM takes things back to the core with a 5 tracker packed full of Jungle & Roots influences, whilst still maintaining a cutting edge, techy feel. Drum heavy, but with enough sub to satisfy any sound system, ‘Pagans’ leads the way with its infectious vocals and live bass, but the quality here is such that all five cuts stand tall and this EP shows the depth and quality of production NFM has come to be known for. If you’ve been down and checked out NFM’s London residency at his own ‘Soul In Motion’ event you will have no doubt skanked out to more than one of the tracks on offer here.

As always, V Recordings comes with the goods and keeps the quality high. They have been at the peak of the scene from its inception, and with their 25th anniversary on the horizon for 2018 they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon!

Three years since Profane’s seminal album ‘V.illan Mills’ was recorded for Inperspective and it’s long overdue that he returns to the label. This Canadian native’s unique style that somehow fuses the hip hop sensibilities of J.Dilla, the jazz/funk ideologies of Danny Breaks and the experimental truth of Squarepusher has been a breath of fresh air in recent years on the Underground D&B scene and these two new cuts from him are no exception.

The experimentally epic breakbeat off tempo monstrosity of ‘Drughmada’ is a heady, giddy tapestry of beats and breaks with a sleazy sample and panic led overtones. ‘West Newton Views’ is a darker more minimal affair. A clunky, dubstep vibe which maintains moody intensity throughout. Tense and suspenseful.

The other side sees the triumphant return of Rome’s Lynch Kingsley. This young, precocious talent has been a good friend to the label for a number of years and after making waves with his debut ‘Eden EP’ it was only a matter of time before his return. We are pleased to present ‘Void’, a dark journey through the breakbeat, sci-fi escapism of early 90’s D&B which in time develops into a deep, break laden workout with gorgeous synths and fantasy atmospheres. A joy to behold.

Crimson is one of the most promising Italian artists, and this release shows all his capabilities. Crimson bio:
Crimson is the alias for Francesco Cardelli, italian born musician, producer and dj. Since a very young age he played guitar and bass. During his career as a musician he toured Europe, England, USA and even India. At the end of the 90's he discovered electronic music and fell in love especially with Jungle/Drum and Bass. He soon bought a pair of turntables and started to produce his first tracks. Between 2011/2017 he released more than 60 tunes and remixes, producing music for such labels like Dutty Audio, Full Force, Cymbalism, T3K, Subculture, The Dreamers, Modulate Recordings, BNC Express and more.. He also composes music or provides sound design for movies, documentaries, tv and radio adverts. He's about to graduate in computer music and sound technologies.

Today's exclusive comes from a special new project on Paradise Lost Recordings entitled The Gates of Charon. Featuring a mixture of D&B and experimental electronica, the album is billed as an original soundtrack and features a strong sci-fi concept, deftly weaved by a variety of producers including Fre4knc, HLZ, Survey, Boot, Rakoon, DYL and more.

For our premiere we picked gnarly amen banger Confrontation Pt. II from Canadian breakbeat heroes Gremlinz and Jesta. Short but sweet, the track builds atmosphere via terse sound designs before dropping into a frenzy of breakbeats, but as soon as that chaotic drop arrives it's gone, as the track fades out and into the next part of the story. Please sit back, relax and enjoy our flight: Captain Feijai will bring you into the highest atmospheres with his new Grifter EP. You can easily recognize that Feijai has listened a lot of Good Looking, Moving Shadow and Metalheadz music in the last 20 years. Now he has re-interpreted the sound that he loves an brought it to the 2018 standards. The results is a wonderful EP that should be listened from start to finish.
“The Grifter” is an uplifting atmospheric track with perfect combinations of pads and electronic breaks, “Jiffy Wink” accelerates the rhythm with fast rolling drums, “Be Right Back” introduces big basses and a jungle mood, while “Lost Property” closes the EP with a techmospheric soundscape.

FEIJAI BIO:
Feijai (Chris Sandell) has been producing on and off for the last 20 years, sticking true to the art of trying to find his own sound. His earlier influences and love for DnB date back to the 'glory years' of 93' and 94' where the likes of Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Good looking were taking all the car stereo airtime.
He naturally moved into DJ'ing and after being motivated and, inspired by his best mate Immortal Minds (Reinforced), moved into producing, and has been in and out of the studio ever since.
He has remained faithful to the scene and slowly but surely continued working on his sound, and over the last few years has had a few releases on Sonata Recordings and Rogue Beats, respectively. He is also the other half of 'Depth Mode' who were part of the 'Fletcher' by Survival remix competition release on 'Dispatch', so he can turn his hand to the darker side of DnB if it calls.
With current influences like Alix Perez, Zero T, Lenzman and Halogenix (to very much name a few) he still finds the most solace in the deeper, soulful side of DnB which is evident in his 'Infinate Emotions' mix series and in the sound he is trying to create.
There is a feeling that now could be his time.
