In our eyes, the man is legendary and we couldn't be happier to have him deliver something for our Slumber Session series that is utterly, well, beautiful. Having been available exclusively as the second disc to 2015's 'Collaborative Works', Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm's improvised audio recordings 'Trance Frendz', taken from their 45-minute studio film of the same name, have been given their own vinyl release – out March 4th, 2016.

Prior to a string of collaborative Erased Tapes releases, which include 2012's 'Stare' 10” and last year’s 'Life Story Love and Glory' 7” and 'Loon' 12” – compiled on the 'Collaborative Works' 2-CD set, Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm spent many hours together in their studios across Berlin and Reykjavik. Both have carved out genre-defying musical careers and formed unique live shows, creating a fan base loyal to their prolific output.

During a session at Durton Studio in Berlin last summer, Nils and Ólafur invited Alexander Schneider and his camera to document it. The recording continued long after the first take, stretching out into the next day until, eventually, several new improvisations had been recorded in 8 hours with no overdubs or edits. The unexpected nature in which these pieces had been created was reminiscent of their first on-stage improvisation many years ago. It became immediately clear how special these songs were.

Originally made available as a 45-minute film on their joint website (www.arnaldsfrahm.com) last September, 'Trance Frendz' will be available to own on vinyl from March 4th, 2016.

One of our favorite duos, @g-e-j-u, joins our premiere series with a classy remix for @tim-aminov 's single, One Lone Survivor. A perfect combination of meditative harmonies and dreamy vocals by Pete Josef, accompanied by Armenian duduk player Aram Avedikian. The famous Russian duo, as usual, have their unique sound imprinted on their productions.

Geju's re-interpretation of 'One Lone Survivor' comes along with 4 other remixes by; Anjei & Ego Thunderlab, Betelgeize, Dima Ustinov and Monokle.

Während da also die hundertste Ausgabe unserer kleinen feinen Reihe die 7 Weltmeere kreuzt, flattern Huldigungen, Einladungen, Danksagungen und allerlei bunt zirpendes Musikgedöhns durch die Luke. Gut das wir uns schon letztes Jahr den liebenswerten https://soundcloud.com/garstique an Bord holten, denn er weiß, wie man eine torkelnde Crew vorm Absaufen bewahrt. So lässt er uns alle mit seiner langsamen Version von langsam, schnurstracks über die Planken schlaumeln - verschiebt das Raum Zeit Kontinuum und dreht mal eben alles von vorn nach hinten und mittendrin nochmal um 180 Grad. Alles klar? Ja, Nee - bei uns auch nicht. Yule (@yulemansur)is a Cultural Producer and has beeing DJing for the last five years. She already performed in parties and festivals like Voodoohop (BRA); Det Gode Selskab (NOR); TAZ Festival (ISR); Fayah / Gruta / 4FinestEars / Sonido Trópico (BRA); and has tracks released on Tropical Twista Records (BRA), Casa Caos (BRA), Drosssel (DEU). In 2017 she also participated of the round table "Diversity at Night" by Hot Content in Rio Music Conference, one of the biggest events to discuss electronic music in Brasil.
Yule is gaining space in underground electronic scene and recently involved in the creation of the label Unsbeat (@unsbeat), where her activities as a music curator has begun. There comes a fresh compilation until finish of 2017.

What are you supposed to do if your loved one is struggling in life and driving you away? Vittoria Fleet creates an EP that rubs salt into the wound, and it’s a beautiful pain.

Especially when living in a metropolis like Berlin or London you will know this type of person: someone with a talent, but standing in their own way. Maybe they party too much, continuously mess up in relationships or they just don’t get their shit together. It’s kinda tolerable if this is just an acquaintance, but what if this is actually your loved one?

Singer Giada Zerbo captures the essence of these emotions with her ethereal and sultry voice while producer Allan Shotter creates an organic electronica soundscape to it: title track “Entangled” hits you with its raw energy of slow violence. “Return” is the wish to bring your loved one back onto the right path. “Headradio” is the battle between closeness and dislodgement, between hope and constant longing.

The Berlin-based duo asks you all the questions: how much responsibility do we carry for the other one? Is it ok to parent our struggling lover? Is it egoistic not to? What if you see no sign of upturn? When is it ok to give up? When is it ok to think about yourself?

The four tracks of Vittoria Fleet’s “Entangled EP” don’t have an answer to all this. But they feel your pain.

After being on the road for a long time, then coming back into the studio and getting back into producing/editing/remixing tracks for single releases and podcasts was to be honest quite tough the last 2 months. Making tracks and then realising at certain moments that clearances will not happen so these tracks won’t be released at all…..that is far from inspiring. So I was searching for some inspiration again and then I flew to Colombia, Medellin. 5 flights within 24 hours to only get there, starting just before midnight. It is not all glitter and glamour in the dj world. BUT…..arriving at Medellin and then getting such a warm welcome from people who I have never met before. Julian, Clara, David, Beto, Mia, to name a few. I played a private party that day and the day after a 3-hour set at Salon Amador (Thanks to Panda 404). A beautiful, cozy and well designed and decorated nightclub in the heart of Medellin. What I did not expect (I hardly have expectations) is that so many people inside this club knew me and where really excited for my performance. How can you go wrong then? I think I played one of my best sets of this year and looking at the crowd I think they liked it as well ;-) So Medellin, Salon Amador, people from Colombia, thank you so much for making me feel inspired again!
