It's been a while, hasn't it? A lot has happened in the past few weeks...I'm not sure where to begin. I guess I'll start off by saying I'm doing well. I recently got a job and I've been really focused on improving myself. I never thought I'd be saying this but I'm getting used to the outside world, it's not as scary as I originally thought. You can thank her for that. She kinda prepared me for it, taking me out, showing me places. I've started to understand a lot because of her. So much, that I started to question myself and my future. Before, I wasn't so keen on having goals; what I wanted to become, where I wanted to go in life. It's only natural to do so when you're passionate about something right? As dreamers, we tunnel vision and fail to broaden our perspectives. We only see what we want to see and we only hear what we want to hear. I guess you can say reality slapped me in the face and told me to wake the fuck up. And so I did. I've never felt so...alive. 

I've come to realize that there are certain things in life you simply cannot let go of, no matter how hard you try. Whether it be something or someone you love, feelings, memories. You can't just throw away something that was important to you or forget someone who played a huge role in your personal growth. We can try, however we'd be lying not only to ourselves but to the people around us. I've learned to accept that even though I can't let go, it shouldn't stop me from moving forward. You can't limit yourself to what's in front of you, you have to look around and explore. 

I hope you can forgive me for being so stubborn and selfish. I let my emotions get the best of me and my brain wasn't functioning properly. I'm sorry for my abrupt absence, I needed some time to breathe, some time to think. Thank you for all the messages and emails, although I don't deserve it, you still continue to support me and that's something I truly cherish. I'm honored to have you here. We've definitely come a long way and our journey hasn't ended yet. It's time to start a new chapter for ourselves, all it took was a little patience and a little courage to start writing. 

May this new year bring you happiness and success in whatever it is you're doing. Look back at all your previous accomplishments and keep them as reminders to stay true to yourself. Work harder than you ever have before. It takes time, but I know you'll achieve your goals. Thank you for believing in me. I'm not sure when, but I'll have another project for you soon enough. Until then, do your best, be your best and prove to yourself that you can conquer life. Good luck, I'll see you around.

Wake

How do you fall out of love with someone? I've been constantly asking myself this question over the past week and I've come to the conclusion that it's near impossible. At least, for me. Sure, you can move on, find someone else, but that's an entirely new story y'know? You can lie to yourself all you want, but there will always be that special place where the people you previously loved reside. It's really sad now that I think about it, relationships are oversaturated with this idea of security and happiness. You emotionally invest so much into someone and convince yourself that your feelings are mutual...only to find out they're not. It's unfortunate, I don't think anyone wants to feel like they were just another thing that happened once. Like a tick off the tally or some game that was sweet at first but got boring after a while. 

But I wouldn't consider past relationships a waste of time. That would mean there was no purpose. You'll find that each time you open your heart to someone, you reveal a form of love you never knew you had. You grow, your perspective widens and you discover what you're capable of. Love is fascinating. Time passes by way too quick when you're in love, it's those little moments when it almost feels like time stops where you get the chance to breathe it all in. But before you know it, it's all over and you're left with a memory. Like waking up from a dream you wonder what in the world just happened. 

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want the dream to last forever.

This song illustrates the feeling I had after the break up. That... hopeful kinda feeling? A subtle undertone of loneliness with distractions left and right. Naive, tunnel visioned and unable to accept the reality of it all. Realizing how dependant I was towards someone who generated my happiness. Angry, impatient and confused. Wishing that it wasn't over and wondering at which point in time did I go wrong. If there was anything I could've done to turn things around. If there was something I did to make her...fall out of love with me.

It's at that point where it all becomes lost time and there's really nothing you can say or do to get her back.

In other news, I had mid day shifts this entire week and all I could think about was finishing this song for you, I really hope you enjoy it. I honestly didn't think I'd have time to make music, but I guess due to the restriction of only having a day off to be creative, it made things run a lot smoother? Aside from that, I caught a cold last Friday and I feel horrible lol. Every time I cough it feels like my brian is going to explode out of my ears! Eh, my immune system is weak af so it's only natural haha. Anyways, I'm off to sleep for an entire day. Thanks for being here, see you when I see you.
