Cody Beebe and Blake Noble have been no secret to the Pacific Northwest music scene. Beebe, a Washington State resident and front man of Cody Beebe & the Crooks, has toured extensively, nationally and internationally, developing a die-hard following of their Northwest rock influenced, Americana sound. Australian born Noble was an instrumental breath of fresh air when he arrived in Seattle in 2012. Also an accomplished touring musician, his distinctive percussive guitar and skilled didgeridoo blended with American folk, blues and funk caught the attention of waves of new fans, as well as Cody Beebe.

When the two were billed to play Chinook Music Festival in 2013, with both their independent projects in full swing (Noble slated to tour France in 2014 and Beebe developing plans to tour Europe in early 2015), they began toying with the idea of writing together. What began as a simple collaboration, based on the mutual respect between Beebe and Noble for each other’s unique talents, gave way to Rust on the Rails. A full band whose music is based on the common thread of the Roots-Rock sound which ran through both their independent careers.

The debut EP from Rust on the Rails, November Sky, released in October 2014 showcased the soulful, Americana Rock vocals of Beebe and the unrivaled, intricate percussive guitar and didgeridoo of Noble, punctuated by an exceptional rhythm section and the violin virtuosity of Tim Snider. Brandon Taylor of Seattle Music Insider said of their sound, “something new made familiar; something complicated made simple – their sound blending world music [and] 90s rock behind complexions of blues, folk [and] funk. The result is uniquely intuitive.” Their approachable complexity took flight and the (super)-group has found themselves sharing the stage with Sturgill Simpson and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real as well as billing alongside Mumford & Sons, Dawes and Foo Fighters at Gentlemen of the Road (Walla Walla). The collaboration has proved worthy of attention and leaves one hopefully anticipating what will come next from Rust on the Rails.


Dubbed “a new take on old standards”, Grizzlee Train are a romping stomping blues/rock act from the NSW Central Coast. Brandon Dodd & Josh Dufficy take the sound of vintage blues and drench it with filthy modern guitar licks and pulsating percussion. They are fast becoming one of Australia’s favourite up-and-coming live acts, with an arsenal of acclaimed EP’s behind them.

Based in the beautiful Seine and Marne regions of southeastern France, the Cotton Belly’s are an four-piece ensemble who interpret country blues with rock overtones in a manner that’s completely original, extremely catchy and dance worthy while proving once again how truly international the music has become.

Nigel Wearne saunters after dark in the music of the night, blending blues, folk and Americana-noir. Hailing from Gunditjmara country in the deep south of Australia, he's a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influences such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Gillian Welch. A deep thinker and truth seeker with a penchant for all things peculiar, he sings of human frailty, grace and the cosmos; songwriting that cuts to the bone.

Nigel has toured Australia, New Zealand, the US, UK and Canada and he's performed at a long list of festivals including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (USA), MerleFest (USA), 30A Songwriters Festival (USA), Philadelphia Folk Festival (USA), Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion (USA), Cambridge Folk Festival (UK) and the Adelaide Guitar Festival (Australia). 

His sophomore album, Black Crow garnered wide critical acclaim including a 4-STAR review in Rolling Stone, a nomination for Best Country Album at the Music Victoria Awards and it debuted at #1 on Australia's AMRAP Charts. His 2023 album The Reckoning received back-to-back nominations for Best Blues Work at the 2023 & 2024 Music Victoria Awards and a 4-STAR review in The Australian and had two songs selected as finalists (top #10) in the International Songwriting Competition.

Rollicking, rumbling, sneering and reflective, The Reckoning is a full band explosion of songs, stories and musical mayhem; Gretsch electric guitar, horns, reeds, Hammond organ, drums and bass. All the while, Wearne's crooning, cutting, monolithic vocal keeps lyricism and poetry at the forefront. Think after dark jazz club meets Ennio Morricone with a dose of soul and rock 'n roll.

2025 marks a return to his roots as a folk songwriter with his latest album The Lone Reckoning set for release on October 17. A raw, emotive, stripped back rendition of his 2023 award-nominated album The Reckoning. ​

Michael Waugh is an incredible Melbourne-based singer-songwriter in the storytelling tradition. His uniquely Australian country-inspired folk music evokes a heartfelt contemporary voice. His honest songs draw vivid images of Australian life - both of growing up in Victoria’s East Gippsland farming community and Melbourne’s inner city – tales of long family drives, building property fences, devastating bushfires, life, love and parenting.
