Marsh closes 2023 with five reworks of some of the most sought-after tracks from his catalogue. 

Over the past year, UK-born and US-based progressive house sensation Marsh has achieved remarkable success with the release of his third artist album, 'Endless,' which has already garnered over 15 million streams since its February debut. 

His global touring ventures have seen him sell out shows in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Mumbai. The launch of his 'All Night Long' club show, featuring extended sets, has been a hit in the US & UK, with upcoming dates at London’s iconic venue Fabric and The Chocolate Factory in New York. 

‘Pneuma’ the frist track on his album ‘Endless’ now features Tom’s long-standing collaborator and friend Jodie Knight in her new alias ALLKNIGHT, with a steady groove and dreamy vocals opening the track, ‘White Lie’ dances between a deep bassline and ethereal and soft piano textures. On this rework of ‘Heaven’, Tom blends in the syncopated vocal and synths of the original with the classic Reese bass, giving the track extra energy. The Dream Mix of ‘Free’ leans on the vastness of its strings and ambient vocals while still using Marsh’s signature grooves, ‘Pretty Eyes’ (Reflective Mix) maximises all its melodic elements, creating an addictive and euphoric groove and lastly, new ambient and percussive elements set-apart the Euphoria rework of ‘Love’ from its original.

Trajectory

As I've been working on remixing and remastering the first Zenlike Creature album, I decided to revisit the second album, too. Oddly, the second album was actually written before the first (during Covid lockdown) and I'd always had plans for it to be recorded in a studio using fellow musician friends to record various parts. Sadly, this never came to pass and time has moved on.

So, here I am, tidying up the mixes, a bit of instrument replacement here and there, and remastering. Hope you enjoy!

Mushroom Forest (2025 Remaster)

I saw a video of a catfish eating a pigeon that had come to drink water on the banks of the Seine River that runs through Paris. From the catfish's perspective, it's easier to eat an unsuspecting pigeon than to go to the trouble of chasing a small fish. The TV commentary said, "Humans build cities, and nature acquires new adaptations." The number of bears in Japan has become so large that they are coming down from the forests into urban areas and attacking people. Global warming has made Japan's summers harsher, depriving us of the opportunity to enjoy the autumn leaves in our beloved forests.

This is a song that Josh and his cousin Paul came up with on Thanksgiving night, after everyone went to bed. They were working on a much longer composition, but got stuck in the jam after looking at each other and wordlessly saying, "this is the magic, stick with it." We were playing an electric guitar and a stand-up bass to a looper disco beat when we recorded this. So, of course, Josh asked Ken if he'd add some real drums, which he did as though he were in the room jamming with us. Josh and Stephen also had the idea to add some banjo in here, which Stephen did like the excellent musician he is. He also managed to mix this live recording hybrid with exceptional skill. 

  This is an example of two musicians who are intimately familiar with each other, and each other's playing and sensibilities, accompanied by two other musicians who have become nearly as familiar over the past few years. Happy belated Turkey Day to everyone. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

Hurray the offspring has arrived

We suddenly lost our brother and my twin, Timothy, last weekend. 
Tim was born with developmental issues, and I was his legal guardian. We were very close and had that "twin" connection. He was also a wonderful soul.  As we struggle to make arrangements and process this, after a few days in a complete fog, I decided to post this song I had pending in his honor. It was not written for him, but some of the sentiments expressed here are universal and seemed fitting. Originally, I was going to say I was proud of the bridge, but now I appreciate you listening, and I hope you enjoy it.
Cherish your friends and family. Tell them you love them, and I hope you have a safe and Happy Holiday Season.

Thanks, as always, to my talented friend @georg-boehme on the clarinet.
That should have been a little, disengaged piece to easily record but while working on it we both had a lot of problems: some health issues, a couple of weeks without Internet connection, a new PC with consequent loss of a lot of musical software and a mess with projects on my new DAW [Panic!]... Boring, irritating things, exactly the opposite of the song's spirit, but in the end we made it!
