@NeinRecords starts the year with the Techbeton EP titled ' Technobeton 2018' with remixes coming courtesy of Daniel Kyo, Pet Peeves (one half of Pin Up Club) and Walter.

@Technobeton was started in Sofia, Bulgaria as a joint venture corporation between 100% TECHNO and 100% BETON. The company aims to translate beats and basslines to concrete tracks and builds them in real scale and in 100% BETON, thus examining certain spatial and sculptural properties of contemporary Techno music. In a second conceptual loop the built concrete is being liquified to sound tracks and arranged in a loud timeline to 100% TECHNO. All together 100% TECHNO + 100% BETON react in a self-sufficient closed circuit and form the sound and vision of TECHNOBETON.

However, our pick of the release comes from Valencian @DanielKyo, who produces a typical high quality, dancefloor ready killer of a track to start the new year in fine fashion.

It's a deeply soulful affair aimed firmly at the dance floor fusing his love of all things Chicago, Detroit & NYC. The title track ‘Body & Soul’ has its roots firmly in Strictly Rhythm/Nu Groove groove – a lush, organ driven banger that is guaranteed to incite hands in the air mayhem. Ashley Beedle & the North Street crew put a different spin on
‘Body & Soul' giving it a more spaced out, Balearic feel with their version, while ‘I ain’t got nothing’ has got attitude and then some. The held string, melancholy chords and beautifully ethereal vocals take you to that tiny, dimly lit backstreet club in your mind, the one you never want to leave. The gasping interjections on ‘I feel it’ are underpinned by ominous synths.  The vinyl carries these first 4 releases. GLENN DAVIS - BODY & SOUL EP -  I FEEL IT

Deepening its connection with its Swedish roots, Truesoul is excited to welcome La Fleur to the collective. 

The Berlin-based, Stockholm-born DJ/producer has emerged as one of the most exciting in house and techno circles in recent years. A resident of Watergate, label boss of the quality Power Plant imprint and new addition to Labyrinth parties in Ibiza, this EP follows La Fleur’s amazing 90-minute set at the Pacha party this season alongside Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg. 

Her strong two-track contribution to the Truesoul catalogue begins with ‘Fish Truck’, a brilliant multi-layered concoction of shuffling beats, heavy bass and a woozy synth line with a subtle nod to Chicago. A rare track that is simultaneously thought-provoking due to its complexity, yet powerful and harmonious in its execution to be a peak-time weapon. ‘Exhaust’ changes up the energy and mood deliciously, as layers of lush pads fill the soundscape and combine with a vocal from an Eckhart Tolle video where a woman asks him why we are so affected by music. With a backbone of funk-laden techno beats, it’s at once beautiful yet melancholic.

Lab Personnel is a very intriguing collaboration between a number of producers hailing from Croatia. Members include Zarkoff (member of Sumerian Fleet), Neon Lies, ikonal many more (total eight members). The tracks were recorded during Synth Lab 4 improvisational sessions in Pisak in 2017. The album is a dense and stormy affair overall with mesmerizing and dark synths. The styles presented drift between genres including acid techno, electro, EBM, and other hybrids. All instrumental, the LP is a brooding journey into diverse techno soundscapes with eight strong tracks that will not disappoint.
