Though I've already played a couple of times in my favorite basement, every gig still feels so unique to me and fills me with a lot of excitement and joy every time🫶

This time I forgot my headphones and sticks in a cabin in the mountains where I had played the night before. Well, you can imagine my nervousness got a damn nice extra kick. Thankfully, I still had 2 out of 4 sticks with me and some spare headphones in my studio... so, a short reality check: I am covered, I can calm down. At least a bit...

You can now listen to the rest of the evening. It was an honor to warm you up for Madmotormiquel!

Dear Matti aka skarú presents us today with an exclusive recording from this year's Zugvögel Festival. The set is a journey into the thicket of the afterhour. With quirky, hypnotic and sometimes dreamy elements, he takes the listener on a deep but feather-light journey into the world of house and downtempo. Incredibly fun is awiating you.

✔️ What is your musical influences? What is your musical background?
My musical influences originally came mainly from dubstep and house / deep house.  Downtempo came later, around 2015 or so. In the meantime I'm happy to have more acoustic music or ambient in my life. A musical background, outside of the obligatory primary school recorder I don't have one. I just took a lot of time later and tweaked everything. tweaked everything. At some point things start to make sense, I swear!

✔️ What makes a good "afterhour"?
A good afterhour should have electrolytes, water, food and tame music. Something like Billy Caso's “At Home” series.

✔️ What was your experience of the set you recorded on the Zugvögel Festival 2024?
For me, the mix is a nostalgic journey into (my) earlier house and
deep house. So it doesn't claim to be particularly deep.
It's just supposed to make you pee in your eyes about back then and bumble in your ass.

✔️ Do you have any special thoughts you want to share with us about the gig?
The gig was a nice and familiar one. It was on the sauna floor, hosted by Dani, who of course knew all the bangers from back then and was with me on the nostalgia cloud with me. That was exactly what I wanted, thank you!

skarú [ at ] Zugvögel 2024 [ Live-Special ]

I’m so happy to share my first set with you, which i played at Kapitel Bollwerk in Bern. The whole preparation was a big, emotional journey, just like the day itself. Let’s say a rollercoaster of emotions :) Maybe you remember your first gig too? Everything is very exciting! So many things went differently than planned that day and my perfectionist side was very challenged (: But what definitely stays in my mind is the feeling of standing behind the decks, hearing the music over the sound system and being able to see people dancing and smiling at me, closing their eyes and just enjoying the movement of the body and the music. That is unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thanks to everyone who was there and supported me. Enjoy the Set. It's imperfect - like me:)

tschu tschu, der gefyhlsexpress rollt über die grenzen deutschlands tief in den süden. dort, wo die spanische sonne, die sommertage noch nicht verabschiedet hat und lauschige tunes warten.
nächster halt:  l'a cultural - @niu barcelona, 
tief treibende bässe locken das teils verschlafene feiervolk am samstag mittag aus ihren zelten, um mit dem gefyhlsexpress in elektronischen frequenzen einzutauchen und die zellen rythmisch zu wecken. 
die buhu stage öffnet mit ordentlich dampf und die gleise sind gestellt auf bouncy emotions. hier und da ein bisschen melodische landschaften und hin und wieder eine wummernde baseline. 
und hier gibts nochmals den fahrtenbucheintrag auf die ohren. 

@la cultural: was eine unfassbar schöne zeit und was ein erlebnis von diesem wunderschönen festival und dieser family ein teil sein zu dürfen. ab sekunde 1 habe ich mich zuhause gefühlt und ich danke euch und das team für diese wunderschöne erfahrung <3 wir sehen uns nächstes jahr wieder, das ist gewiss. und ja ich hatte nicht nur einmal pipi in den augen während des sets und auch über die gesamte zeit. liebe geht raus an euch!
