Back in June, post Genesis I entered a competition to win the opportunity to play the opening set for Evolution Events at Karma Kafe, Norwich.

Uplifting Life Progressive - End of year mix 2024 (31.12.2024 - part 1°)

I've been DJing and clubbing for 25 years, mostly trance. During that time, I've broadened out to playing other genres like psy, prog, funky house, disco, tech house, etc. but there's still always something about uplifting euphoric trance that beats anything else. I've had the privilege of playing twice for OTR back at The Plug, but, as most of my other sets have been over the years, it's been on warm up duty. As I say, I love euphoric trance, I've got a load of it on vinyl, and it's always been a dream to be able to close an event playing some of the amazing tunes I have in my collection. This competition mix is a snippet into what I would love to bring to end the night at the next OTR. I believe that trance nights should finish on a euphoric high, and that's what I hope I've captured in this mix. As much as I'd love to mix as seamlessly as Sasha, I always hope that my tune selection makes up for any technical imperfections. Anyway, enjoy!

Vinyl only mix, performed on 2 x Reloop RP-8000 Mk2 turntables and an Ecler Evo 4 mixer.

Neil Taylor (N.D.T) embarked on his mixing journey in the late 1990s, discovering his passion for electronic music early on, particularly in trance, house, and techno genres. 

He began his mixing career on Technics 1210 turntables, fostering a deep appreciation for vinyl, which he continues to showcase through classic mixes and sets featured on his SoundCloud profile.

With a degree in sound engineering and music production, Neil has spent many years working behind the scenes as a sound engineer for both mainstream and underground companies. 

His experience includes performing live sets for various events and radio stations, where he has supported renowned DJs such as Ben Nicky, Allen Watts and Tilt, among others.

Neil's sets are characterised by a unique style that emphasises progression, atmosphere, and tension, delivering powerful basslines that captivate his audience.
