Bringing the bass to Cork for over 30 years, Shane Johnson is one half of the legendary Fish Go Deep duo who have been shaping the Irish house music scene since the late 80s. 

In 2005 their own Go Deep imprint got off to a flying start when the first single off their debut album, The Cure and the Cause, was licensed by UK house giant, Defected, and became a huge club and chart hit. Since then they have released numerous EPs and have remixed a wide variety of house luminaries - Kerri Chandler, Alton Miller, K-Alexi and Charles Webster, to name a few.

Refining his craft alongside some of the world's top house DJs, Shane has become a don in his own right, spinning records and producing tracks that have been released on some of the biggest house music labels around. 

With his dynamic beats and expertly crafted melodies, Shane's passion for the underground house scene is truly contagious. We were honoured to have this Irish legend grace the main stage at Éalú Le Grá 2022 and his set was an absolute masterclass!

“Loved the location, setting and vibe at last year’s Éalú Le Grá… such a welcoming bunch of party people with an open-minded attitude. Was also great to play, by festival standards, a longish set and stretch those musical muscles. Many thanks to one and all!”

Simon DK - “Float Laboratory” (1994)
After hearing the news of Simons passing and remembering with friends the subject of a certain mixtape came up …we all searched our boxes of cassettes without much luck and some empty cases …however Pete Slotter discovered and found what might well be the only existing copy …and as luck would have it the original tape!
Recorded at Simon DK's flat in Nottingham after the after party on a DiY Bounce night in 1994 after Bath crew John Kesecki & Pete Slotter went back to his and asked him to make a tape, which he did and named it 'Float Laboratory'. 
It's a lovely pitched down mix perfectly capturing those early hours.
It was brought down to Bath - copied and played ALOT!!. It was one of those tapes that just did the rounds and was loved by many…
So it was only right at this time to immortalise it and make it available for you to enjoy again or hear it for the first time...

My winning mix from Muzik Magazines bedroom bedlam dj competition.
the mix was recorded in october 1997 on 2 technics 1210's and numark mixer. The sound quality is not up to todays standards but its still ok. if you dont know, Muzik Magazine had a monthly dj comp where each winner got a gig at a major club (james zabiela also won one month)

as it was recorded on cassette tape there is a short break in the middle of the mix (where the tape flips over). The mix was recorded Live in one take and comes with the occasional mistake, its raw and has loads of energy and a selection of great tracks.
sadly soundcloud couldnt cope with a 90min WAV. so its a 320 mp3

for me its one of my favorite mixes ive ever done.
the article in the picture says its from feb 1997 but its feb 1998.

It's 2016 , 20 years since I discovered the sounds of Dj Sneak in a Small dark room in Leeds.

After this night in 1996 at Back To Basics in Leeds i had to find out more about this unknown Dj.

This mix of the night  became available later, as did other Dj mixes much to the disgust of Sneak and a few years of fall outs began.

The mix was recorded and sold without Sneaks blessing. A few choice words where said at the time, luckily this is all in the past. Sneak happily now gives his mixes out on his own Soundcloud.
 

This was the mix that really started my love affair with Dj Sneaks mixing style and music. 

I originally had a copy of this mix and for years it got played heavily in my cars, eventually loosing the tape.

After a number of years searching again, another original copy came into my hands.

So I decided to record and upload the mix on my Soundcloud so you get the proper feel for the sound quality, not a poor Youtube rip.

Hope you enjoy this mix.

This is house music at it's best.
