The original Scanned Synth Pro synthesizer virtual instrument (VST) was developed by John Proctor and the team at Humanoid Sound Systems (HSS).

Scanned Synth Pro offers "Scanned Synthesis" - until now, this new synthesis technology has only been available to users of Csound and Max. Scanned Synthesis represents a powerful and efficient technique for animating wavetables and controlling them in real-time. Developed by Bill Verplank, Rob Shaw, and Max Mathews between 1998 and 1999 at Interval Research, Inc. 

It is based on the psychoacoustics of how we hear and appreciate timbres and on our motor control (haptic) abilities to manipulate timbres during live performance. This Refill contains a wide selection of multisampled sounds from the synth.

Scanned Synth Pro 2 Reason Refill - Downloadable Demo Tracks

The latest (MP3) version of my sequenced tune "Walton Racket" in Demo format. Originally composed on my Ensoniq ESQ1 back in 1987 and inspired by the "Miami Vice" Theme by Jan Hammer. The tempo for this version is 110 bpm.

This version uses multisamples from the Scanned Synth Pro 2 (SSP2)  Reason Refill and the Yamaha RX-17 Combinators I created for Reason 6.5. The Scanned Synth Pro 2 Refill contains 30 multisampled patches including distinctive and unique synth pads, leads and basses. 

The Scanned Synth Pro 2 (VST) synth was developed by John Proctor and is copyright of Humanoid Sound Systems Ltd.

The VST Version of the Scanned Synth Pro 2 synth is available from http://www.humanoidsounds.co.uk/shop.html 

Note the VST Version available from Humanoid Sound Systems  will only work with Reason via Rewire (i.e. Where you have two host programs - Reason and another Digital Audio Workstation open at once), as Reason does not currently "talk directly" to VST instruments. if you want to use Scanned Synth with Reason then you are better off downloading and using the free Reason Refill. The VST version will work directly with other Digital Audio Workstations such as Reaper and Mixcraft and you will have access to a lot more presets if you buy it from Humanoid Sound Systems.

Walton Racket - Demo for Scanned Synth Pro 2 Reason Refill  & Anamorphic Cinema Reboot

The "Red Planet Theme" has been graciously donated by James Paddock to the Scanned Synth Pro 2 (SSP2) Reason Refill Project as a demo track using ten instances of SSP2.

All the synthesizer sounds you hear on this version (excluding the drums) are those sampled from SSP2 for the Reason Refill.

This version of Red Planet Theme uses multisamples from the Scanned Synth Pro 2 (SSP2) Reason Refill and the Yamaha RX-17 Combinators I created for Reason 6.5. 

It started life as a humble midi file, created in Cakewalk Express. I imported it into Reason 6.5 and allocated suitable sounds to each track from the Scanned Synth Pro 2 Refill.

I also added drum sounds from my resampled Yamaha RX-17 combinator pack and some Yamaha Dtxplorer (re)samples too.
