Sunshine music for the masses! The happy hippo always brings the sunshine no matter what the weather. This DJ and producer has created his own unique party vibe by infusing Latin, Caribbean and Afro styles into his tastefully produced selections of Breaks, House, Drum & Bass and Hiphop.

He also leads Hippo Sound System, a collective of producers, musicians and vocalists who explore new fusions of world music with sound system culture. Producing intelligent and organic dance music that is enriching for both the body and the soul!

David Rodigan, Craig Charles and Jeremiah Asiamiah are all fans of his work, giving his tracks airtime on their shows on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and BBC 6 music.

"Duke Skellington" is an artist and producer spinning on the forefront of the global "Future Swing" music movement. His style is a synthesis developed from pioneering electronic music like (insert dope classic drum and bass that shaped you here), dance-heavy big-band swing & hot jazz from the 1920’s and 1930’s, and lo-fi avant-garde soundscapes that lift your mind to the clouds. The result is a unique experience of music that unites the past and future. Duke Skellington fashions music for the uninhibited dancing soul that lives and loves in the present moment.

Duke Skellington is the music producer for both the Vaude Villainz and Duke Skellington music projects. The Vaude Villainz recent record “Voodoo Swing” was released in early 2017 with Ragtime Records and was #2 on the Beatport top selling Glitch Hop albums. The Duke Skellington "Devils, Dames and Debauchery" EP is dropping with Ragtime in 2020, and will be expanding on his signature futuristic and vintage music sound. He also co-hosts an Electro Swing Podcast called “Jitterbug Jukebox”, and is part of the label boss team at Ragtime Records. Some musicians take a while to build an audience and connect with fans. For the Los Angeles-based quartet Dirty Honey, success came right out of the gate...

Released in March 2019, the band’s debut single, “When I’m Gone,” became the first song by an unsigned artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. Their second single, “Rolling 7s,” went into the Top 5.  Dirty Honey opened for The Who, Guns ’N Roses, Slash and Alter Bridge, and was the “must-see” at major rock festivals such as Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, Heavy MTL, and Epicenter.  On their first U.S. headline tour, the band sold out every date.  

The band (Marc LaBelle/vocals, John Notto/guitar, Justin Smolian/bass, and Corey Coverstone/drums) worked again with producer Nick DiDia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam) on their self-titled album that captures the lightning-in-a-bottle dynamics and energy of their live sound.  The new Dirty Honey upcoming album indeed builds on the band’s output to date, driven by the smoking lead single “California Dreaming” that muses about life’s ebbs and flows, even in paradise.  With airtight songwriting that plays up their strengths: sexy, bluesy, nasty rock’n’roll, melodic hard rock, and soulful ‘70s blues-rock.
