From the new Sebastian Mullaert EP released on Josh Wink's OVUM Recordings on June 30, 2014.
I made Chant de Paris the day before my first solo live show at the club showcase in Paris, hence the name for the track and EP.

Over the last 17 years, Sebastian Mullaert has had a long and distinguished career as one half of hardware experimentalist duo Minilogue, with releases on Cocoon, Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels. Now opting to focus more on solo endeavors, he hits the ground running with his sublime Ovum debut. Clocking in at a hefty 16 minutes in length, the title track is a heady excursion which flirts with reverb-drenched ouds and meandering keyboard scales, conveying an air of Arabic mystique. An array of acidic synths move in and out of focus, whilst skittering hi-hats and ride cymbals slowly build upon rafts of kinetic energy, all programmed with a deft, organic touch.In an impressive display of versatility, Mullaert promptly flips the vibe from Berlin basement to Ibiza sunset with Recapturing the Radical Self. It starts off similarly enough, with brooding 303 squelches and sharp claps, but slowly ascends into a state of full-on Balearic bliss. Roam Recordings is thrilled to announce the debut single "Ganga Tanga" from Mexican artists Borgetti and Josefo. This original single features an infectious chant backed by driving percussion and rugged synthwork. 

The "Ganga Tanga" EP is backed by remixes from Roam alumni Roe Deers and Mijo. Roe Deers gets wonderfully quirky by playing up the hypnotic percussion, tripping out the vocal, and rolling it over a heavy yet playful bassline. Mijo, on the other hand, strips the track down to its raw essence contrasting lush pads with percussion overdriven to perfection.

Israel’s hottest export follow up excellent EPs on Hivern and I’m A Cliché with a 3-tracker for the global psychedelic cult of Multi Culti.

Tel Aviv’s Red Axes are one of the most exciting new acts in dance music, with rich sound that is musical, deep, trippy and organic, while remaining precise and lethally effective in the club. The range in their sound is impressive, their talent unmistakeable. They are one of our favourite artists of the year, and this latest record is one of their best yet.

Lead track 'Waiting for a Surprise’ builds around a mid-tempo disco bassline, with tough percussion, and rugged synth stabs, but it’s the eerie and unique sounding vocals of Brazilian collaborator Abrao that bring everything together. This one is a guaranteed bomb for building up, tearing down, peak time or chilling out… an outstanding track in every sense, the kind that force trainspotters to the DJ booth to discover what’s playing. Next up, ‘Hope’ kicks off with resonant, delayed toms, adding a haunting howl and synths before dropping into a wild, clanging, carnivalesque frenzy. It’s understated, but advanced, with an interesting arrangement that really opens up in the second half. Finally, 'The Metal Bender’ slows the tempo but ups the vibe into an elated, slow-burning space-disco anthem. Fantastic stuff!

Melbourne’s Kris Baha, fresh from launching his Power Station imprint, offers a stripped down remix of ‘Waiting for a Surprise,’ with a heavy, industrial-influenced groove that wanders into the deep, dark end of party strasse.

Bienvenue Beton! A brand-new act making his debut on Pets with two raw, straight-to- the-floor slabs of gritty technoid machine funk. Little is known about him besides the fact hes from Belgium, hes clearly a graduate of the Hardfloor school of knocks, hes invested in some serious analogue gear and he knows his way around a kick-ass groove. Grainy, full-fat 808 funk delivered with no frills or bells or unnecessary detail, Bruxelles pays homage to the citys visceral new beat and EBM roots but with contemporary muscle and a titanium jacking groove almost Wink-like hypnosis to the acid as it strips back. Voice 64 continues this theme of stark leftfield savagery with a simple pounding kick, a distorted decaying bassline and a cannon-like riff that builds on itself, encouraging the snare-rattled percussion to do the same. Its primal tendrils brought together with a laugh so demonic it could make the devil blush, once again its another physical, concentrated piece of frank, honest techno. One brand new artist, two stone cold constructions, you can bet on Beton appearing on Pets again in the near future.

Hot on the heels of their celebrated album Beach Goths and after offering-up Paratrooper as part of DJ Tennis’ recent DJ-Kicks, Israeli genre-defying duo Red Axes arrive on Life and Death with an original EP.

Sami is a post-Moondog shamanic tribal trip, while Round combines dilapidated future Goa electronics with just the right amount of cowbell and guitar psych. Vego Gam is lo-fi Spaghetti Western, full of tape delay and amplifier sauce, while Pulse waves and wind chimes ring Russian bells on the title track, Kalacol - a mind-melding dancefloor gem.

Longtime friends Mark Fanciulli and Rob Cockerton have teamed together on 'Slave to the Rave', a raw and nostalgic tune that fills all the satisfactions of 80s Chicago while still being a clean and modern dance floor chop.
