Solid Mexican label Innisfallen Records is finally back on track to deliver its first (better-late-than-never) release of the year: “Fake Expectations” comes from the minds of Lusca (SXDNS216) & Andrem and features two beefy originals plus three fat remixes made with love by Undefined Pattern (SXDNS197) – who contributed with two interesting versions of the title track – and Sequencers.

Lusca and Andrem are more than used to working in partnership with other artists: The former, along with MUFTI, forms the accomplished duo Los Fugazzi; while the latter, together with Montessori, establishes FLXXX, another gifted and esteemed duo.

The track we were solicited to premiere was carefully cooked by Daniel and Gilberto Cornejo, the brothers behind the… yes, duo Sequencers. Inspired by different music tastes, they use their disparate influences to deliver a mixed sonority, combining their independent takes from the huge scope the underground music has to offer and handing over something very particular.

For their interpretation of “Fake Expectations”, the lads decided to speed up the original a little bit (from 108 to 115 BPM) and immerse it into a darker atmosphere. The dirtier and more energetic version, full of distortions and elements, seems to be the result of letting two kids fooling around with vintage studio equipment and midi controllers. Gloominess at its best, but with a powerful groove. We liked it!

After the success of the first four releases, Where Were We is back with a new one. This is yet again to commemorate WWW b-day and the fact that the project is turning 4 years old this February.
Azole project hides 2 new and exciting fellas from Moscow. And their offering feels more like a complete album than just a regular EP.
Mr. Sutherland EP is an allusion to a famous Australian keyboard virtuoso with the same surname and even though keyboard solos might not be that lavish and jazzy when compared to their counterpart, they are definitely there and will take you for a dreamy ride in outer space.
Most of the track names in the album are organic and refer to the living world, so we hope that while listening to these compositions you will feel how intricately everything is interlinked not only here on planet Earth, but also in all vastness of the universe. Enjoy the trip!

What a band name! Does the contraction of “polyamory” and “armory” say anything about the duo formed of famed producer Michael J Collins and singer Ashley Moore? We didn’t dig the issue further but focused on what we have here. No newcomer, Michael J Collins is some sort of a genius hermit, who produced a number of weird house efforts on labels such as Wolf + Lamb, My Favorite Robot or Apersonal Music, to name a few. His tunes even landed on the Fabric series. But Michael much prefers the shadier underground, and launched his own label FilthyBroke Recordings releasing leftfield instrumental hip hop and pop since 2014. Together with Ashley Moore under Polyarmory they push the bounderies of electronica meets the dancefloor. After of 40 years of dance music history, we wondered if there was yet anything new to bri? These two provide an answer right here. Go figure if this house, electronica, trap, bass or something in between or above! Polyarmory brings a fresh transcendental interpretation of dance music.

To complete the pack with exquisite remixes, Amarcord and Jamie Paton have been invited to join the effort.

Amarcord is a musician, DJ and Live Performer also active in the experimental music circuit.

With a very diverse background that ranges from Krautrock and Ambient to New Wave, Disco and Techno, Amarcord's productions are truly original and unpredictable choices that went as far as having him be one of the to release music on Laurent Garnier’s secret label Cod3 QR, or featured on record labels such as Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, Watergate (for the compilation curated by Who Made Who), Ombra International and Aeon and many more. He takes 'Dream Back To Sleep' further reaching the quintessence of what the Special place label's goal is about, a shamanic and cosmic take on dance music.

Jamie Paton, is one half of Cage & Aviary and considers himself part man, part machine, part cockatiel. He's a self-described DJ, a one-finger keyboardist, and a pot-tickler. Having put out releases to acclaim on the ltd editions that are Dissident Distribution, Cage & Aviary have since spread their wings with releases on DFA, Tiny Sticks, and Astro Lab. For his part, Jamie Paton brings 'Like Flies To Honey' into some form of dubby abstract land of sounds.
