META014 is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated Metalheadz releases in the label's entire history! This milestone outing sees a long overdue debut release for one of the drum and bass scene's greatest talents Dom & Roland. His constant output of critically acclaimed work, over nearly twenty years, has contained some of the biggest tracks this genre has ever spawned. We proudly present two brand new outstanding examples of his production genius for your listening pleasure. 

Both sides of this release are already instantly recognisable to most discerning and non-discerning fans and both will no doubt become future classics, just as you might anticipate from Dom's first Metalheadz outing. 

'Unofficial Jah' draws inspiration from Goldie's ground-breaking seminal 1995 album 'Timeless'. Crafting the recognisable elements toward a direction that perfectly fits the track's title. Dom stamps his unmistakable champion sound into a Goldie classic, creating a truly heavyweight, dubbed out reconstruction of epic proportions. 

'Outta Endz' perfectly completes an essential release with a piece of music that has been destroying dance floors and leaving people setting all the regular forums and club convo’s alight with the question “What is that Outta London vocal tune!?” It's intro pads leading up to a stuttered repeated cry of “Straight Outta London” before dropping into a track so big it's practically an instant rewind. Truly a 'must have' piece of vinyl. 

To finish off the release, the stunning sleeve art fittingly depicts a new take on the classic Metalheadz logo, the lion has awoken! Let Jah be praised!

« Layers » was one of the highlights of Saycet's fourth album to which it gave its name: an epic of graceful melodic techno resting on a powerful mid-tempo. By tackling a « Layers » re-reading, Chloé, an essential artist of French electronic music, has stripped the track to the bone: "I deconstructed the successive layers so that they only appear in bits and pieces, and bring « Layers » to the dancefloor", says the musician and producer. Thanks to this remix, it takes on another dimension, colder and more nocturnal, but just as gripping as the original.

Saycet - Layers (Chloé Remix)

The new EP extracted from the successful Mad Dog's Album is "The future", which takes the title of the main featured track.

"The future" is a cover track of the original tune from 1992 by Dyewitness & The Nightraver, re-worked by DJ Mad Dog,¬†featuring the vocal talent of MC Jeff. The bassline is the power of this tune, which brings your mind back to the origins of Hardcore. It is joined with a beautiful melody and as the lyrics, "this is the future‚Äù also meant as the future of this track.

"Rude motherfuckers" features the crazy voice of Lenny Dee. How everyone knows, Mad Dog is the king of eclecticism, he can do every kind of Hardcore, giving exactly the same explosive power to his tracks, from 155 to 200 BPM, doesn't matter the tempo, what really matters to him is to make something new and totally insane. This track is bouncing beats that bubble into an eruption of party vibes, everybody will want to move!

In this Ep there are also 2 remixes included.
The first one is a great rmx by Odious of the old track "Dj Mad Dog Feat. M.C. Tha Watcher - Dreams" 
Second one is the rmx by Nekrasof of the track "Last motherfuckers", winner of the recent rmx contest.
Surely these guys know what they want and we will hear a lot about them in the next future.

Following the huge success of his debut album ‘Caligo’, Spor has hooked up with powerhouse producer Memtrix to present ‘Memtrix & Spor: Darkest Hours’ forthcoming on Sotto Voce/Lifted Music. The track will be released on 14th September.

‘Darkest Hours’ begins with a stream of deep cinematic melodies progressing into a melting pot of cutting-edge bass sonics and crisp drum grooves; accompanied by ambient vocals. The B-side entitled ‘Super Trace’ unfolds as a dark roller combined with sharp percussion sounds, certain to get a dance floor moving.

With over 1 million views on his track ‘All You Are’ on YouTube and over 5 releases under his belt at the age of 19, this is the start of a long journey in the world of drum & bass for Memtrix. "Working with Spor has definitely been an eye opening and insightful experience,” he says, “but I think more than that it's just been really fun. It always seems really natural and fluent in the studio and we bounce ideas off each other really well I think. Obviously it's an absolute privilege for me to work with such a household name who's work I respect so much, and this release is something I'm really proud of and excited about."
