Some artists just breathe music all their lives. JR Kenna, born on January 19, 1995, and coming from a musically gifted family, is one such artist. He lives in the Netherlands and has Surinamese and Indonesian roots.

At the age of ten he discovered his passion for rap, which later developed into a strong affinity for reggae and dancehall music in which he found his true strength. As he developed as an artist, he added his passion for urban and Afro influences to his musical repertoire, making JR Kenna a versatile artist.

In mid-2014, he emerged onto the scene, competing in the Benelux Reggae Contest in Antwerp, Belgium, where he claimed second place. This breakthrough led to numerous performances across the Netherlands and beyond.

JR Kenna released his EP Gyallery on May 10, 2019, which featured his breakthrough hit “Bubble It.” Two years later, he released his debut album Unbounded, featuring his second hit, “If Not Today’.

Jacques Mees was born in 1959 in Moergestel, The Netherlands.

 

The talented Americana musician and singer began playing guitar when he was around nine years old. After forming and playing in small local folk bands for a few years, he decided to pursue his career as a solo artist.

 

His love for folk, country and blues music has resulted in building up a repertoire of songs which he performs on thousands of stages around the world.

 

The songs you will hear on many of his albums are written by some of his mentors and heroes such as Bob Dylan, Townes van Zandt, John Prine and Guy Clark.

 

Jacques Mees is a versatile performer who has also produced many other albums featuring his own original songs.
