This song is a message dedicated the to the people who "March in March"    16/3/2014
 This song was written and recorded in the last 24 hours  which coincides with the eve of the Tasmanian State election. 
This version is hot of the desk, warts and all,  it is the bare bones of whats to come. We hope to finish the song in coming weeks, but we wanted to post it up before the RALLY on Sunday.

March In March

A half finished recording  with The Fat Band of a song that I had written during my years of Forest activism in Tasmania.. I started calling Log trucks Satans Chariots during at time when a few of us got arrested for holding up log trucks in the main street of hobart as a demonstrative protest against the forestry practices in Tasmania

Satans Chariots aka Log Truck by The Fat BAnd

This song was written in 1994 and then recorded and published on the album ABAGASHAG by Purple Shag. I wrote this as a tribute to the Tarkine forest Blockade which was set up to try and stop the "Road to Nowhere' which was being carved through the the forest and button grass planes in the North West Coast of Tasmania, which intern opened  the wild and untouched beauty to mining and deforestation . I along with countless others was a proactive member of a group dubbed the TARKINE TIGERS who spent over a year in service to protecting the Tarkine. This is my song

This one really is from the vaults, it was roughly  recorded in a friends lounge room  in 1998 it was never mixed or released.. yet has a haunting vintage sound that I  still can appreciate for the times..the words were inspired by some crazy events that took place that summer,  protests & deaths,  festivals and funerals ,  loves lost & found on the path and the  underlying sense that we are only here on  earth for a short glimpse...

Spirits Are Real

A song in celebration of the rich and diverse mixture of cultures in Australia, as well as my own confusion and loss of identity to which  culture to unify with when blood lines are crossed with so many.. "Mongrel Mob" we used to say, got a lil bit everything in us.. .. it is yet Another never released song from the 90's but i feel the words still stand strong for todays cultural climate

Aboriginal Land

A song for my father George Degrassi, who was an outstanding human  and also a Vietnam Veteran. The song was written for the Darkness to Light exhibition in 2000, which involved veterans  from all over Australia who had used art as way to help ease the symptoms of PTSD.  I was commissioned to write the song by the Tasmanian VVA about my perspective of growing up with a father who had known the horrors of war.  This is my song in honour of him and all the other returned service men. It was Recorded live in the bedroom, in one take, so it’s very rough but full of ❣  
 In loving memory of George Degrassi, may peace prevail xxx
