Three Man Soul Machine is a self contained funky trio that transcends genres in order to bring the groove to you. 
Blending the music of Soul, Jazz, Blues and Reggae, Three Man Soul Machine puts together a musical gumbo that stretches from Africa to the Caribbean and lands home in the USA. Hopefully, in one of these provinces of musical bliss, you, the listener, can find a home.
Three Man Soul Machine features Carter Stevens on Organ, Mylie Durham IV on Drums and Frank Mitchell Jr. on Tenor Saxophone. While Carter Stevens is a relative newcomer to the DC music scene, Mylie and Frank have played with bands including The Funk Ark, The Harry Bells, See-I, and Thievery Corporation over the last ten years. 
These three musicians enjoy a variety of music and grooves and strive to blend these interests into their own version of the 21K organ trio.
If you love Bob Marley, Stanely Turrentine, Tommy McCook and James Brown, you'll dig Three Man Soul Machine.

"Graham Tolbert, one half of Splynter along with Carter Magee, brought a blend of sounds that mixed lighter, percussive elements with deep bass grooves. Splynter has the ability to mix the experimental with the rhythmic, evidenced through the regular pairing of danceable beats with other contrasting sounds that ran the gamut from yawning, apocalyptic background noise to samples of hip hop, elephants and, at one point, “Eleanor Rigby.” I felt the influence of science fiction strongly during the set, particularly when distorted, atmospheric chords and noises joined lilting sounds that would fit well on a paradisical alternate world. Songs transported me between envisioning the dystopian cityscapes of Blade Runner and the spiritual experiences of transcendence.  The set was characterized by organic movement between time signatures and rhythms, sometimes within the same song, where layered textures brought out new and innovative musical combinations. While the performance felt like it came together in the best way, each song was different and the sound of Splynter overall defied categorization in terms of musical style. Splynter’s EP, Fabric, is available on Bandcamp."
