An exclusive soundtrack by Nick Klein, a prolific electronic music artist who hails from the south and the north of the eastern United States. Klein practices as a recording artist who runs radio programs, label, and curated events under the working title of "Psychic Liberation Front". Klein has released with L.I.E.S., BANK, Alter, Monorail Trespassing, Unknown Precept, Angoisse, and Ascetic House; with forthcoming releases on iDEAL and Viewlexx. Klein is interested in loud volume as form, and the sociology and ideology that presents in self-identifying music subcultures. 

His soundtrack contribution is called 'Licking On The Edge Of Heaven' and features Julia Santoli. It is inspired by a script he has been writing. 

Klein describes the work as:

"Promethazine ambient, squirting electronics, and a failed pop song featuring a not failing vocalist, Julia Santoli. The opposite of looking into the sun, music for finding quiet on the interior. The build and the give.

The inspiration for this work is culled from the wonderful moment to allow yourself something new, personally and creatively. Finding and searching and fulfilling and draining and failing and starting from the beginning. A man in a car driving around everywhere he can to find some relief.

The narrative of the recordings accompanies a non-fictitious script about a traveling born-again Christian who falls in love at every church he visits. As he evades again and again  looking for divinity, he accumulates the realization that he is who he is and his past can’t be distanced. A man stuck, like in Groundhog Day, where everything is different and the same all of the time. I have been working on this script for 4 years. Not sure how it will manifest.

The work is uninterrupted modular synthesizer takes recorded to a Sony home stereo tape recorder."

LA based DJ/producer and @theblacklodgela resident, Jason James aka Force Placement is set to release his debut album, "Vibe Repair", on the city's finest 100% Silk label later this week. With previous EPs and tracks released on Material Image, Budget Cuts, and Vanity Press Records to name a few - this is Jason's first full-length album. Tallying in at 10 tracks - "Vibe Repair" pays homage to those late nights/early mornings after the rave, sharing heady melodies and low-slung rhythms that are equally as sedating as they are dance-induced. While majority of the tracks lean on the more laid-back playing field, "Bubble Guts" will get your body to jack and your head to bang. With its staccato basslines and bubbly chords, you are transported back to the rave you just left. Your vibe has been repaired.
