'To Be Alone' has been plucked from the acclaimed 'Ladies and Mentalmen' LP for a series of remixes in this new release on NY-based stalwart Nurvous Records, showcasing Australian production powerhouses Yolanda Be Cool in a light to which some may not yet be accustomed.

A moment of calm amidst the dancefloor onslaught of Yolanda Be Cool's recent LP, the original of To Be Alone is something of a slow burner; oozing chill-out vibes and hinting more towards the afterparty. Nevertheless, one senses that the emotive vocals running through the track could lend themselves to something more upbeat and it's with this in mind that Yolanda's own refix announces itself with faster-paced beats, clubby bass notes and some Old Skool rave stabs to finish the job off. 

If this is where the euphoria's at, then look no further than the Critical Mess remix for an altogether darker, more brooding take; Omar's soulful vocals are used sparingly this time round, turning the original on its head and creating a sexy sense of minimalism over the mean bassline workout. The female vocal top line really shines in this version. 

Elsewhere, up and coming US-based producer Urulu wastes little time in stamping his evocative and atmospheric trademarks all over his remix. Crisp Future Garage beats dance playfully over a lush new ambience, vocals taking a back seat as the tune washes over the listener. 

For the final remix, G-Swing originator James Curd takes control. Here, Electro-tinged synths fuse with funky guitar licks and feel-good Disco vibes and while the lyrical melancholia remains, the track instead becomes something beautifully uplifting.

It's been a longtime since my last remix.
This time, I wanted to do something different than house music by reconnecting with my soul music roots a little. I approached this remix as a challenge, because the original version is so perfect that it's hard to make a useful remix. 
I worked with a talented young guitarist named Lucas Martinez, to add this Rock n' Roll texture to this Soul Classic. 
I played 60s R&amp;B drums, Organ and Wurlitzer, with 80s analog bass, added chords not present on the original chorus to create a catchy fresh pop feels, perfect to enjoy the vibe of this upcoming summer. 
I made it mixable for the DJ and I give it to you for free. 
(The arrangement is copyrighted so don't fuck with me baby, just enjoy and share it for pleasure of the music...)

Based in the Marseille region, the non-profit T’Cap21 works towards social inclusion for people with Down Syndrome.

DJ/producer Nelson Leeroy, who recently had 3 tracks in the Top 3 Beatport, and young DJ/singer Ulysse from Mars, who are both dedicated to this cause, bring us a new track with a Tropical House rhythm that’s impossible not to dance to.

This EP inspires us all to come together in support of people with Down Syndrome, a genetic anomaly that affects over 800,000 worldwide. People with Down Syndrome are often shunned and discriminated against out of ignorance, especially in the entertainment and nightlife sectors.

But different mental abilities don’t have to be a barrier. If we celebrate our differences, we can bring about awareness in a positive way.

Hip Hop party girl Ms. Blaze (aka The Blaze) was born in Boston, Massachusetts
to Jamaican parents. She was raised in Miami, Florida by her single mother.  She grew up surrounded by music.  Reggae, Rap, Dancehall, Pop and Cuban music were everywhere.
