Hanging at your feet like a low moon strung on a string
Searching for you, looking for it in so many things

The words don’t matter until they’re spoken
And my heart isn’t happy until it’s broken
My new fix is addiction to discontentment
You lost all your fervor, don’t know where you spent it

Now the clouds are always moving everywhere
It’s a mirage and you think you see something there

When I finally wake up and I walk out I’m blinded by the sun
And my blood forgets so quickly and my brain goes on the run

This reality is just a dream until it’s awoken
And that bottle where you left your brains you found had been broken
The lines don’t make a difference now because they’ve all been painted
You think you’d like to try it so you go on and take it

Now the colors always moving everywhere
It’s a mirage and you think you see something there

I don’t see no faces in the clouds and I don’t know why
And I don’t plan my day around it, sitting for you waiting to just stop by
It’s my imagination, it’s too hard to quantify

Lay on the couch for a while

A mess in the kitchen
Delores, she said “I can't see anything”

When we struck gold
The morning sun was bright 
The air was cold 
And night was falling away 

We came through storm and field
Searching for the answers
Hollowed out and weird 
Climbing on the altars

The night was cold and black
And I couldn’t see your face
You could not hold it back anymore

And if you’re always hiding from the light you never get to shine
And it’s the treasures that you seek are often in the darkest mine

And the sun was in your eyes
You opened up your arms
And your heartbeat to the sky

The tower looked much taller
The rocks all piled higher
You sat up there 
And I called you a liar

But the wildflowers still bloomed
Even in the dead of night 
Something real was coming down

And if you’re always hiding from the light you never get to shine
And it’s the treasures that you seek are often in the darkest mine
